    I have the most problem with Clean as ESI.

    Kurtz as LII - not sure. I think some Gamma would be more likely.

    I can see a case for the others.

    Well, Clean's a tough one to type. He's 17. Maybe an ESE. You have a suggestion?

    Perhaps Kurtz is a depressed LIE. But what came to my mind was IJ temperament. If you remove his past record, he could easily be an IP, but clearly he's not.

    Well, Kurtz may be more difficult to type because what happened was this.

    - John Milius wrote the original script, based on the general plot of Conrad's Heart of Darkness;
    - Coppola rewrote the script a bit;
    - then Brando rewrote Kurtz's lines again, as he himself wrote, "I was good at bullshitting Francis".

    Kurtz is portrayed as originally a by-the-book, top-of-his-class officer who got tired of the bullshit in Vietnam and decided to do things his own way.

    I agree that IJ is a good temperament for Kurtz; but except INFj I can see a case for all the others. Perhaps ISTj fits best. Not sure.

    Clean seems like an irrational ethical type, but his character isn't really developed.

    He acts like a Researcher (NT).

    Perhaps a SEI would fit best. I didn't really see much evidence for Se in him, so I'd say SEE was out of the question.
