The initial photos posted, esp. photos #2 and #4, convey a typical ISTp look... After looking at several clips, (below,) I realize that these are not typical expressions for him. (I've never seen any of his movies.)
In the initial interview posted, I attributed his 'internal tension' to excitement, i.e. from hosting SNL. The male Si-ISTp can act very much like this when excited, but only for short periods. After watching a few more clips, I realized that Shia LaB sustains this behavior... He's jittery.
Here are two clips that say a lot:

DiscoJoe has it right here, I believe. ENTj...
JuJu, I see what you mean about the jitters. The pics I posted are typical of any other I found of him. I think there seems to be a disconnect between his public persona and private person (not that I would know for sure, of course). Anyway, thanks for the replies so far....
I totally agree with this... In one interview he talks about how he spends most of his time at home playing video games... Si-ISTp would be a possibility, I think--he does have that look in those photos, definitely, and when he's listening to a question--if he's usually just chillin, not jittery or anything... Haven't seen him that way though.
he is kinda gangly but strong.. seems istp.
i saw the indiana jones movie and became interested in him again. he does seem like an S type. gentle
wow he was supposed to go to yale but decided he would rather be working.
There's something awfully lonely about him. He has a nice voice, but it just seems like he has all this fame and not a real friend. But if he is a leader, that would make sense since being a leader innately requires one to be alone. (lots of followers, but nobody seeing eye-to-eye which is required of a friend)
I think he cries himself to sleep at night. I think he wants nothing more than to just live in a fairytale world where people do nothing but love each other all day. Him being ESTp and needing an INFp dual then, would make perfect sense.
He reminds me of Nicholas Cage.
He reminds me of a SLE I went to high school with, but I'm not sure how much of that is type related.
It could be Shia's just not used or kinda doesn't like giving interviews. makes him jittery

The only blatantly obvious ISTP I see in this thread is Hayden Christensen in the video JuJu posted. ISTP doesn't fit for Shia for some reason.
He seems like he's still going through puberty.
there's been a couple threads about him already:
http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...t=shia+labeouf
http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...t=shia+labeouf
it looks like the main types put out there for him are SLI, SLE, and LIE. i seriously doubt SLI...i just don't see it. i wonder how SLE and LIE could seem similar and different bc i've never typed anyone LIE so i'm curious for those who type him one or the other to explain and talk about why he's one and not the other.
interview:
haven't looked through those threads, but for some reason I've thought ILE for him. Though I could make myself see SLE.
omg, NOT SLI!!! And i dont think LIE either, though ILE and LIE are quasis so could look superficially similar --Shia's demeanor seems merry (contrast with Prince William for example).
but DEFINITELY not SLI.

after i made this thread, i checked the socionix list and noticed he's put down as ILE there, so that's another one to throw into the mix. hmm, idk. i could see it better than SLI, at least. i was kind of hoping for LIE cos i think he's charming, haha, but i agree that SLI is def a no.
Meh, I kinda hate the way he acts (i mean, the way he expresses himself by acting, not just "acts" in a general sense), especially in WSII money never sleeps. I have a friend whose body language is very similar, and I think he's ESFj, so I would type Shia as ESFj-Si.
Obsequium amicos, veritas odium parit
Greedy jew that just wants money. Very independent. Pause at 0:09 for epic jew face. It's really comical.
looks like he is a man of many types. sigh.
i just noticed this. is prince william LIE? ya, i can see that.
i'm starting to lean SLE for shia, sadness.
lol, lots of people i'm drawn to get typed ESE. hmmmm.
What? I see right through people.
I'm not saying that he's a horrible person or anything, but he is most definitely a greedy jew whose main concern in life is earning as much money as possible.
People get mad at me when I say these things, thinking I'm too harsh, but somebody has to be the one that points out to others that the emperor isn't wearing any clothes. Otherwise you yutzes will spend your money on anything. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course. But it's just a perspective. Just be aware that he's a greedy jew that wants money.
I definitely get Ne/Si and extrovert from him. His energy seems a bit too scattered to be any Ej; like he's very stop-and-start in the way he thinks and the way his energy is presented. I suppose ENTp > ENFp, ESTp just seems weird for him.
i guess we all know how you feel about jews now.
People get mad at you because you are extrapolating personality traits from one individual to a highly diverse ethnic and religious group. That is called bigotry on a similar level as racism and homophobia. It would be like saying you are a pedophile because you're gay.
BTW interesting you see Shia as "greedy", he is actually your dual. I guess it's a match made in heaven.

I don't know if he's SLE - but I'd say an Ep type is likely, maybe ILE or maybe SLE or even maybe SEE but I don't think IEE - but I dont' think he looks that much like Russell Crowe or Gerard Butler. Even if he were older, he just doesn't look much like them to me.
I am 100 percent convinced he is Ni-ENFj.

I take it back. He's Ni-EIE. I see Se in him at certain times, but it's "acted" Se, like Christian Bale's (also EIE, I believe). I think the Hidden Agenda can be bluffed with a reasonable degree of tenability.
Now that I study him more closely, his body language and energy outflow are reminiscent of Gilly's. They both emit a kind of twitchy, kinetic anxiousness that, in the case of George and I believe also in that of Labeouf, masks strong undercurrents of emotional volatility.
Despite that, they both effect the impression of adroit, graceful social aptitude coupled with a vague, almost subconscious suspicion of asocial emotional manipulation.
SLI...he's cute.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

I saw the dude 1-2 years ago in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman (an US movie about transition into maturity and a Western guy caught in Eastern space and stereotypes). Pretty cool.
And of course I saw him in Nymphomaniac where he was mediocre. But hey, I still think he's SEE (or SLE).
I don't understand how... everyone now days sucks at typing people so much. Where are the older users?!?!?!? wurrrrr??!? ...he friggin clearly isn't SEE.. good lord.
