Dominant and leading functions are only that because they are valued. Being valued means that the valuer is not only adept in them, but also perceives them to be useful. Why do you think types find their PoLR useless? It is their PoLR because they a) don't use it and b) see little or no need for it.

You are on the wrong track here. I think that is a very useful function. I would function my better in this world if I were strong in that function. I would also experience much less problems in certain areas of life if were not my PoLR, and of course it is very useful to be strong in . But I am not, and I would prefer that people didn't expect me to be strong in , because they tend to react negatively when they often don't get even the minimum of expected normal response from me that they get from most other people. I don't want to use my ; I am not good at it, and it is a very unnatural function for me to use. But my preferred way of interacting with people is not highly appreciated in society.

No. You should read all the relevant passages regardless of length, and you should read them more than once. And remember that I didn't say that you had to read everything in Psychological Types. You don't have to read the whole book, even if you probably should. But if you are interested in trying to find out for sure whether you are an extraverted or an introverted type, you should at least read what Jung says about Extraversion in general, and you should compare that with what he says about Introversion in general. Skip what he says about the specific types, at least for now.

The truth is that I am not trying to be manipulative, and I don't understand why you and other people see my behaviour as manipulative. I am honest when I say this.

ILI is one of the most common types -- if not the most common types -- among those who have an autism spectrum disorder of some sort, for example Asperger. Compare my behaviour with niffweed's, who is also an ILI. Don't you understand that my behaviour and my lack of understanding of why people react so negatively to it, is perfectly in line with being an ILI? And that it makes the IEI and other ethical types out of the question in my case?

I am actually going to do that on Wednesday at 10.00 am. I am going to try to find out the exact correlations between the ILI type and Asperger's Syndrome, SPD, and other things once and for all. And I will try to find out exactly to what extent I can be considered to have Asperger or something similar to that condition. It will be interesting, but it might take a while to find all the relevant answers. Eventually I hope to find them, if I get a chance to discuss these things with the most competent scientists and research teams. But much research is still left to be done here.
