But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...

yeah... alot of my appreciation for them comes from a connection to the shows. Every song brings up memories of dosing hard wandering through the crowds or hanging out in somebody's bus/camper smoking kind bud with hot hippy chicks. Lots of anchoring to drug highs. I can understand how they wouldn't appeal to somebody who hasn't had those experiences.Originally Posted by hkkmr

I really feel for modern young druggies who didn't get to live the Deadhead (or Phish) lifestyle... it was sooo much fun :wink:Originally Posted by Gilly

There's no doubt a connection.
fuck yeah there's a connection. As heirs and remnants of the hippy lifestyle being a Deadhead was all about the tripping/smoking kind and enjoying the good Deadhead scene. LSD production and distribution was nearly entirely dependant on Deadheads and Dead tours from the end of the hippy era up to the start of the Rave scene in the early/mid 90s. (and that isn't hypothosis or shit talking... I was involved in LSD distributionOriginally Posted by Rocky

Ehh, no offense, but that's such an annoy song. My parents dragged me to one of his "concerts" recently. He played that. And not only did I almost fall asleep in the middle, even Guthrie looked like he wanted to shoot himself WHILE HE WAS PLAYING it. You don't really get worse then that.Originally Posted by Bionicgoat
