bullshit! 100 people is quite a few. I bet you can't think of 100 friends(people you know, and who know something about you, also have some communication) you've had in your entire life thus far. This isn't just people you look at and whom you know by name.

Maybe...but it's up there. For someone like me to almost know 100 people so far, I would assume that since 99% of the population is more outgoing than I, that they have met just about that many if not more.

There's a big difference between "meeting" people, "saying hi" to people, and actually "knowing" people (and them knowing you).

An extrovert may say hi to a lot of people, but that doesn't mean a whole lot (unless they're playing the numbers game).
I have a few people I stay in contact with....but we rarely really talk, and we don't particularly know each other well. Mmmm well, more like, they don't know me well....despite how much I talk about myself...they either don't listen, don't get me, don't care, or we're all off in our own little worlds (more likely the latter). The isolation I've felt since moving here hasn't done wonders for my already declining communication abilities.

Many many times I wish I was an introvert...
I often imagine what it could be like to be without the compulsion to talk talk talk before I even know what's going to come out of my mouth.

I think the figure would be easily > 100

I mean i went to school with 1000 people and out of them i knew a good 30 quite well possibly another 15 if you up the criteria.

I worked with 100 people in a call centre and i knew every single one of them after 4 years. Any one of them i could probablly think of a personal fact about their life. but your right i only keep in contact with about 3 of them.

I dont wanna be ISTp anymore either

Being ISTp for me is like this, when I hit my twenties and things were ok but not amazingly brilliant, I started thinking about life and coming acroos psychology stuff and anything relivant and realised, im pretty good at everything that dosent matter. For as long as I can remember, iv'e always had very good grades, always been good at any sport I try, always good at other things like cooking, always been reliable, trustworthy etc and iv'e always recieved a lot of compliments reguarding all these things. Trouble is, im pretty good at everything that dosent matter, the only things that matter are happiness and well being, and they overwhelmingly come from all the social things, like family, friends and relationships. This is based on science and my own experience.

Family - See on a regular basis, but not very close to them.
Friends - Have many and im well liked , but most im down in the pecking order.
Relationships - Hmm, yeah, what a joke, my record is appauling.

I think being ISTp is defo why things have turned out this way, although I guess im lucky im not INTj, they seem to have it even worse!. I wanna change to be an ESTp, ESFp, ESFj, ENFj, ENTj. Any one of those will do thanks, send my type changing pill through the post please

WOW ... how timely, jessica129 because lately (as in, the past week) I came to the conclusion that you are not an ISTp. Finally finding your pic online was the catalyst that threw up the big question mark (so to speak).

OK, time to read the thread ...

EDIT - UPDATE: jessica129, maybe you really are an ESTp? You're definitely a T-type.

I think those things do matter. If i was good at those things i would feel complete. Instead im stuck with being great with people and shit at most everything else. What makes you think you're so bad at these things flower? You seem pretty nice to me. I think that even extraverts who are apparently good with people can feel alone aswell. ISTp's are not destined to have no friends etc.

Ha, last weekend just for the hell of it, I got hold of some random aura book at the store, and began flipping through the pages, scanning the drawings. Two of the highly detailed ones perfectly matched two of my type energy sketches. And, the book's interpretations of those energies just so happened to fit the types I had associated those images with. So that was my coincidence for the week. (Gotta have a little peculiar irony, now and then ...)

Type is not always a buffer against the certain kinds of problems a person may encounter in life.

It's alright, maybe you're going through a big personality change or something.

Sides, as pretty much the archtypical ISTp in lots of ways, I can say it's not all bad Good health and short memory sure helps.

The same INFj friend wishes he was extraverted aswell. Why do so many introverts want to be extroverted damn it? Extraverted people are shitty. A lot of the time they are up themselves and too loud and they think they are the bees knees. Extraverted women? Eww how gross . There was this extraverted girl in my tutorial today and all i wished for was a sponge to appear in her mouth to stop her yabbering. A self contained person is much more interesting to me. It must be all the media images and movies making everyone think that you guys that you need to be this way.

See im being a typical annoying Extraverted person. Why dont i just shut up. Shut up Meatburger. Yammer. Its 1:19am. Why dont i just sleep. Fuck

Yup, doing stuff (building software programs, a futon, a bed, fixing a damn crappy doorknob) I've found out, really helps kinda clear my mind and give me lots of time to think. It sure is simpler than what other types have to do, i think.

And about extraverted women, I agree man, give me an introvert any day. Quiet, and adds a lot more mystery, I love introvert girls.

I've cut down drastically. And besides, it's just something I watch before bedtime anyway, not as if it interferes with much...makes me have pleasant dreams

    Hmm.

I dislike the word aura nowadays b/c of the mystical connotations/etc associated to what is probably only some physical sensitivity to something that has an objective basis in nature. It need NOT be "spiritual" nor "mysterious" anymore than the existence of electrons. And again, one who can detect something another cannot need not be any more strange than one who is colorblind, and one who is not.

I agree that one's type is fixed, even though one can develop in many ways.

Trying on one's type's for size can be a helpful way for one to try and find their type, over time. That's all. No joking intended.

I don't know Flower's type, but my fleeting, trivial impression in the past was that ISFp seemed more likely over ISTp. Not enough data for me to go on in this case.

lol, sorry baby jesus, but jessica started it!

Hmm, well, everybody wants to be good at some things, but I think its much better to be good with people than anything else by far, people are your main source of happiness. You see, im good at badminton and im good at cooking. Which is better? being good at cooking because its more of a social thing, people dont really care that im good at badminton, but if I can cook, they still dont really care about it, but they respond better because it helps the social side of things, and I become closer to them because of it. If you good with people generally, you have that anyway without anything to help facilitate it.

Truth is im not that bad at the social side of life, I have always had friends and always been well liked, what bugs me is that im not as tuned in to the social things that most others seem to be, it means im not able to have much influence, I end up being considered below others socially, my intimate relationships are few and far between and when I do have something there, it dosent seem to work, unlike others who dont seem to have nearly as many problems. Im the last to hear of things going on, my opinions are less valued and asked of etc

I think it comes down to poorer social skills than most, not the ones that make you accepted and liked, but the ones that gain you respect and get you somewhere in relationships, and in places like work where you may get promoted, or offered a job through networking etc.

i tried to make friends today with someone and failed miserably. I told the person about resting heart rates as a measurement of athleticism. i'm proud of myself though. i don't want to be friends with people who aren't interested in facts and life. I've been having a lot of trouble at work with my co-workers solely becasue i don't have much in common with them. They want to talk about sodas and alcohol, how much sleep they got, or i dunno. whatever, i'm still happy and have a good resting heart rate. really, what is there to complain about?

Heath, if he wasn't wooed by your impressive fact, he should shoot himself. He can never feel curiosity again.

Thats something im quite interested in at the moment lol. I was jogging at the gym yesterday (been going like 3 weeks) and i was absolutely stuffed. I looked at my heart rate and it's normally 141 but last night it say 167 or something? not sure if this was accurate.

@Flower. Im not sure exactly what to say. The ISTp's i know aren't that bad at social skills i think. They seem to shoot themselves in the feet. They get angry at people and push them away when they think people dont care but its not true. One of my ISTp friends last night was getting pretty grumpy with me not getting my headphones working. I know hes just testing me with his little ISTp games though.

that's good, for endurance sports it is good to be within 50-90% of your max heart rate(220 minus age). I've been cycling daily(usually 1 hour 30 minutes, 2 hours, and 4 hours on days off) for about a month and a half and my resting heart rate has already dropped 10 beats. i was at 65-70 and now i am usually between 51-56. I feel great all the time.

lol, i'm exaggerating. Just checked, it's 80...which i think is still pretty high. I'm a very nervous person, think that has something to do with it. I go to the doctors and it's 140...they're amazed I was able to walk in there.

well, i could be considered a nervous person. i'm thin and hyperactive, but with regular excercise i can overcome that. goddamnit, jessica, whatever path you are taking is not one you want to stay on.

wait, but i just got up and walked over to my comp so that's not really 'resting'. That's excertion of some kind. ha. No, but 80 is high? It's always been that way. Even when I was a kid it's always been through the roof in uncomfortable situations.
