My friends kinda rely on me as a "conduit" to him because we're so similar and understand one another so well; aside from his girlfriend, I'm really the only one who can talk really straight with him without getting myself into trouble (and one of the only ones who can handle him when I AM in trouble ). We have similarities in our 7-ness, but I'm not as opinionated or blatantly anti-authority as he is. He's against not only authority as in government, superiors, etc, but the whole concept of power and top-down influence, even on a small scale; I, on the other hand, like being the one in charge and having social influence. Compared to him, I could almost be an 8: he's sociable and can develop really deep connections with people, but I'm more naturally gregarious and expansive.
So he's not an 8 then?

You could well be 8w9 ESTJ. Why do you see yourself as a 1 over an 8?

UDP, tell me about your anger. Everything you can about it.

I don't go there much anymore -- sorta inane anymore.
You do get some good conversations on it. Like now, for instance. You just have to stick with it.

My friend is an INFP in MBTI, but an ENFp in socionics. Basically, don't bother with the socionics tests, because they're essentially MBTI tests posing as socionics ones. There's no way you can really type people using socionics without their looking at the functions. You can't measure Extraversion/Introversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, Judging/Perceiving like you can with MBTI.

I definitely feel a connection to 5: there was a period in my life, 2-3 years ago, when I wasn't interested in anything but trying to define a personal philosophy and understand the world. I isolated myself from everyone but a few close friends at meal times and my girlfriend; I just sat up in my room and looked out the window and thought about life. I figured a lot of things out, but eventually I realized that I couldn't go on doing that forever.

I do also feel a connection to 3, but it's pretty superficial and really only exists in the form of image consciousness that could easily be attributed to being a social variant. I don't really give a rats ass about "success;" I just want enough money to not have to let the idea of money, and making it, run my life.

I don't really relate to 9 at all.
Gilly, a thought: maybe you're a fucked up 8. Or just an 8.

Nah. No appeal for me anymore. I was in on that board at its dawning; then part of the EIDB Diaspora. Won't go back because there's just too much drek to wade through now and nannyish policing of threads. Hardly any intelligent convo to be had. Just herds of 4s posting threads about "Fours and ___" and "My 2 gf and why I can't stand __".

Yeah, lmao. I still think some of it is good for a read and entertaining, unfortunately I tuned into that board too late. Was it better back then?

Picture the Garden of Eden... before the casting out and barring the way with flaming swords.

OK... not that ideal. But it was pretty spontaneous, really a moment. This forum reminds me of the EI before it got stale and stagnant. Too many people, leading to trolls, leading to flame fests, leading to too much moderation and a swear filter. While I'm not fond of crudeness, I like the option of saying "fuck" or "damn" when/if the mood ever strikes. (Although I'm generally too ladylike most of the time)... ::giggle::

Perhaps you should post yourself. It's what I do. If there are no good conversations, I stir some up, make some more interesting, so that there's a genuine incentive to post on the board everyday. It's the same case with socionics. It takes years to learn about every type in depth, so keep that in mind and you'll be posting for a very long time. But if posting on threads is generally unproductive in one's eyes, maybe scrapping it altogether would be a better idea.

Ezra, I'm pretty much a quintessential 7; nothing else comes close to being obviously my primary type.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I did post for a very long time.

Many of my former posts on that board still exist unaltered (user=Dina). I was actually one of the "top posters" for quite a while. I believe my interest in the EIDB just ran its course. No use trying to revive a corpse.

Didn't I already reach that conclusion on my own...?

    Ignore this shit about your having a cp6 wing - I'm certain you're a 7w8.

Perhaps so. I asserted that that is what one would do, not what you did.

Because of the way you conduct yourself. You're not reactive like a cp6 - you're very much invasive and belligerent. I identify with you in that way. You also haven't quite got the nerviness of the 7w6.

I don't see why we should consider your opinion over aka-kitsune's given that you never address the motivations for your typings but merely state them like factual truths.

Ah... but Ezra INSISTS. Therefore he must be correct. No need to let people come to their own conclusions when he can just tell them he's right. Why does he need reasoning?

Fortunately, this kind of bluster only works on the sheeple, while most of the members of this forum can think for themselves.

    I just did.

Anyway, I don't feel the need to do so. I'm giving Gilly food for thought. It's up to him to decide what type he is. He doesn't need it laid out for him in a dissertation. He's not a 6.

Motivations aren't necessarily dissertations, but I'll stop arguing because you're a brick wall and just going on in order not to lose.

Gilly, would you say bipolars are reactive? I might have heard somewhere that's sometimes the case...

But I'm not *sure*. Might just be hearsay. What do you think?
