    Default Jacques Brel

One of my favorites - understated songwriting, but intense performances:

He's somewhat reminiscent of David Bowie, for me (who consequently recorded "Amsterdam.")

Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."

Fe IP, INFp or ISFp. I think INFp is slightly more likely.

Interesting. I was actually leaning towards ENFj.

My initial, quick guess was ISFj (illusionary, heh!) but then watched more and began to see more signs of ENFj instead.

By the way, you call his songwriting understated?! Melodically, perhaps - but the lyrics? Yikes ... Can they be any more dramatic?

I think I've become far too accustomed to Mtv lyrics, which leave nothing to the imagination.

Just for fun - here's the guy as Don Quixote in the French version of Man of La Mancha:

I think ENFj is a plausible type. The thing that's certain is huge Fe>Fi preference, but I also thought he seemed more IP than EJ, and his Fe more of the creative than accepting sort.

EN_J tho mby LSI could also work. I think I also see a preference for Fe in his music.

In pictures of his younger self, his eyes almost look like they have an typical IEE build, but with and IEI vibe. But overall I'm more inclined towards EIE, because of his composure.

By the way, I visited his grave back in 2001, on the same cemetery where Paul Gauguin is buried. It was friggin' hot and humid, but I was there all alone and sat there a while in silence, thinking about his life, using that as a carrier wave to get to my own attitudes.

While I'm writing this, I am rerecording a cassette with his music, and listening to his music I get the urge to finish that bottle of red wine I just opened...
