I always thought he was ENTp, in part because he wrote lots of short pieces that explored some new idea, rather than trying to develop the idea in depth, and in part because he seemed to say a lot of things that he didn't take seriously, just sort of to play with people's minds.
But he may have been INp too. I suspect a lot of really good composers were INTp and INFp.
