Title
I'm gonna avoid writing a whole lot because according to the last typology community I was involved with, it just sounds like I'm taking the piss out of ILIs when I go on at length.
I'm 20 year old American student studying Chinese. I have numerous likes and dislikes, and none of them are of particular interest. I burn time mostly by playing Civ and various CRPGs, doomscrolling twitter, reading Wikipedia, and staring at the ceiling, though whether any of these could be considered hobbies is contentious.
Topics of interest (Non-exhaustive, and not an expert on any of these): Ancient-classical-medieval history (Egypt, Roman Republic, China (Qin-3K), Early Church, England), linguistics, certain aspects of geography, inorganic chemistry.
I got back into typology 2 days ago when I wanted to find a long rant I wrote a couple of years ago about why I dislike "wholesome memes" conceptually in a socionics-themed discord server that a former friend was active in. Naturally, my knowledge in the subject is still lacking.
I don't expect to do much more than lurk here, but if you, beloved reader, ever want to say "hi", I probably won't stop you.

The ceilings in my house made any anxiety I had 1000% worse. I couldn't not see it, stupid overlapping star lazy ceiling stamp pattern, so unpleasant. I hate it today still, suck it up, but 99% of my problems stem from that ceiling.
I stare at the ceiling sometimes when listening to music. [I mostly listen to music while doing other things on my computer though]
25 years of misery at that angle.
Welcome!

I've never had the severe misfortune of having lived in a place with non-random-noise ceilings. That sounds like torture. Hope you are doing better these days.

since you are an ILI I am actually curious. do you find it easy to study chinese, do you think it comes naturally to you?

I would say it definitely comes very easily to me. Our coursework is very heavy at this school, with an average of 40 new words needing to be learned per day over a period of a year and a half. I take next to no notes in class and largely don't pay attention as I recognize most of the class time is devoted to helping my classmates who do need the assist, which results in a fair bit of repetition. That said, this is how almost any class I've ever taken has been, and the only topic I've ever done poorly on was calculus and literary analysis. Language study on the other hand, it's all very natural to me, but I would have trouble going into detail on why that may be.
