REST IN PEACE - The Passing of long-time (8+ years) 16types Member Raver

Hey Guys.

For everyone who knew Carlo (known in the forum as "Raver" as the IEE 6w7 or 6w5 I don't remember). I wanted to let you know that he passed away Saturday last week (August 31st, 2019)

He's one of my best friends and I know he was an active member here (I used to be active here for a couple of months) and he would want everyone here to know as well.

I bought him a huge standing bouquet of flowers on behalf of everyone here for his funeral tomorrow Message says "From Jason and 16Types". If you would like to contribute, feel free to e-transfer me any amount you want to jason20092010@live.ca .

What a kind man, reached out to me with his letters and wise words of advice. A very compassionate person. I'm sorry for his friends and family. To go so young same age as me.

What a loss, I'm sending my sympathies out to his friends and family. He had an impact on the forum and irl for many people here.

Raver was easily one of my favourite members here - always struck me as being very thoughtful, very respectable and always pleasant company.

Truly one of the very few people who has never pissed me off and said many interesting things. Just about the best this place has to offer.

I'm sure many, including myself, are at loss of words - we all take for granted that people pass one day and you certainly left earlier than expected.

You were easily one of the most intelligent yet likeable/respectable person on this forum, a very rare quality to have. And oddly, you were also one of the few that I resonated with.

Raver was a leader with an easy-going nature. Though he was Ne, he was not hasty or wacko, but reliable and friendly. I enjoyed having his presence here, and he will be missed. :(

Thank you so much for thinking of telling us during this time, Jason. My heart goes out to you and everyone closely involved with him. He was too goddamn young and vibrant. I'll remember him warmly.

RIP to a great guy. We debated a lot, mostly about our political disagreements, but he was a complete gentleman throughout. He was smart, open-minded, willing to entertain unpopular opinions, and easily one of the bright spots on this forum.

Wow. I almost can’t believe this. He was always active on discord and I immediately checked on there after reading this, and yeah not a peep from him for some time. This is my first time seeing a picture of him too. :( I want to know what happened but at the same time I don’t want to be an asshole and dig in to something that might be too private for someone who never knew him in person.

We are all thinking of him. </3

edit: I think sometimes it’s easy to forget we’re real people on here and not just caricatures of a personality theory so that picture really blew me away with how sadly real this is

Though this doesn't apply to Raver at all, it explains the statistic: shame kills.

I am at a loss for words upon hearing this. He was such a kind, accepting, non judgemental human being. In our conversations he always made me feel like he listened to what I said in full.

Damn. I felt bad about the way I challenged him and what not. Now especially. It's the little things. I know I feel hurt easily by so many many things that people do, so if I ever hurt you, Raver, then I'm very sorry. RIP my dear brother.

He was a smart guy, I really enjoyed talking to him. Always had an open mind, and was a curious, lively soul. I'm completely sick hearing this, just feels incredibly wrong knowing he won't be here discussing things anymore. RIP Raver, this forum loved you.

Long time member from 2005 so I didn't really know him that well. At least he seemed to have good time with my twistedness which seems quite spectacular and it extends to others it seems.

I'm sure Raver would have mentioned it to someone had he known. And I for one was never given a hint that anything was amiss with his health.

As Nairda pointed out, based on what information could be found, a brain aneurysm seems most likely.

I just wanted to say; I think everyone he interacted with respected him for his great integrity and intellect. I can honestly say that he was one of a kind. I do not use these words lightly. Goodbye.

I looked up to him a lot. He was very enjoyable to talk to, and I wish I could have had more conversations with him. He had a super cool outlook and always had something to say; always invited people into stuff and helped me come out of my shell. I'm sorry.

Jason isn't banned (note the B is actually a German S). And I found the obituary online. I would love for this to be some sort of Canadian April Fool's Day prank. But it doesn't look that way. :(

Director Abbie, Hitta, lungs - I remember you guys.

Just wanted confirm since I'm sure you're all wondering, that Carlo/Raver died because of a brain aneurysm. He was on a trip in Las Vegas for a week with his girlfriend when it happened. He got a really big headache and then went unconscious in the ambulance; his girlfriend was beside him and holding him the whole time so he wasn't alone and she was saying he was having such a great time on the trip until that happened.

I hope he rests well in peace. The forum is a HUGE part of his life and I know he would be so happy knowing you all care about him so much.

I actually met him because of this forum. I noticed he said something related to Toronto (which is where we live) one time in the forum and told him I was from Toronto too. It turns out he was in the same university one day, so we met up (I stopped being active on this forum at around that time, and then fast forward 6-7 years till today).

At my birthday party in 2014 is where he met one of my other friends, who became his girlfriend, and they've been together ever since.

Yeah, he was really healthy, nothing out of the ordinary.

I met and spoke with his father at the funeral. He said a few years back, Carlo went out for a run and hit his head really badly and has been having regular headaches ever since, I believe he said he went to the doctor afterwards, but noone really thought anything of it.

I'm not sure if that's related because it could be totally unrelated and he just bumped his head that time, but that's the only thing related to any head injury.

Sorry to hear this : ( I talked to him a bit and even if Socionics says he was my conflictor, we didn't conflict, he seemed a decent, reasonable and mature person.

Maybe the best way to honor Raver's memory is to incorporate what you most enjoyed and respected about him into your own beliefs and habits.

I've been really down about this. I'm still quite new to this forum, but I got to know Raver over the last couple of months through Discord. I found him to be an incredibly thoughtful and balanced person, and I really loved talking with him. I enjoyed his presence and perspective on things.

Life can be so incredibly fragile, cruel and brief. Keep your loved ones close and don't let it pass you by.

I know that it's awkward for me after cutting ties with this community completely to come out of nowhere and say stuff on here especially so long after this was posted but I got curious and wondered if I had any notifications so I came back and saw this today.

Even though our worldviews and attitudes were radically different he was still very nice to me and wanted to be my friend for the 7-8 months we knew each other. Seeing his face made me cry for the first time in months and I hate myself for falling apart and disappearing from our discord a month before all this. (I'll probably go back soon so that this doesn't happen again with anyone else.)

The world was very lucky to have him even just for this long.

I am new here and I don't know you or your friend, but my heart goes out to you. What's helped for me is knowing that this person will always live in my heart and memory and carrying the positive aspects of their spirit with me, even bringing them into my own way of being and view of others. It sounds like he shared some characteristics that my sister had, she was the most compassionate and selfless person I knew. As a result, I am now a more compassionate, giving and less judgmental person myself. She was also a raver with the nickname "Sparks". Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need someone to talk to :love:

I always liked reading Raver's posts. I may not have always agreed with him (rare), but I liked his responses. I always felt like he was a more stable version of me, and so held him as a model of how I might eventually be like. I'll miss him.

Oh Raver <3 you are missed now my friend but we will all see each other in time. May your soul be illuminated. You are no longer suffering
