Hey :D
Hello everyone :D
I'm new to Socionics but have spent a few years learning about the Enneagram (instinctual variants and tritypes and wings and all that and just about today finally found something that resonated so yay :D...) and MBTI with all the cognitive functions stuff, so this is me trying to expand to this other fascinating 16-personalities-categorization system!
(I keep having these very obsessive self-analysis-phases and my newest one started this week so I guess I'm in the right space here??...)
I found this forum via a tumblr post and it only lets me read the linked post if I'm logged in so that's another reason XD Also, I really want to learn more about Socionics specifically? I've heard about it before and I'm a bit confused as to what the differences between it and MBTI are? Especially since both seem to have cognitive functions or whatever you call them here?? :'D So I guess that's the first thing I'm here for! :>

Welcome, Siarven.
In my opinion, the biggest difference between MBTI and Socionics is that both will tell you that this person is an apple, this person is a banana, and this person is a bunch of grapes. But only Socionics has a coherent theory about how they will interact. MBTI has anecdotes, but Socionics has a theory.
That's from the perspective of a Te-dom. You can get more coherent explanations from the Ti-doms here.
