Member Questionnaire 1 (equinoxx)
What is beauty? What is love? Beauty is something that is admirable.
Love is wanting to stick around a person, even throughout life's challenges.
What are your most important values? Live and let live. Let people do what they want. Mind your own business. Make yourself happy, but be courteous to others when possible.
Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place? Eh, I kind of believe in souls & such, but not to an extent where I base my life around it. I don't think there's a god or anything, but nobody really knows for sure.
Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you? I don't have much of an opinion on war. I don't like war, and I feel like nations could work out their problems more calmly & efficiently, but we've been fighting wars for thousands of years and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon. There's nothing anyone can really do to stop it.
What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why? Space, philosophy, love, relationships, music, art, food, funny things.
I like talking about "deep stuff", but I also like humorous, light-hearted conversations & banter.
My main interests are art & writing, but I enjoy all of the things listed above. I don't have a reason to like them, I just do.
Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body? Kind of, kind of not.
I wouldn't say I'm that focused on my body. I try to be, but I'm too "up in the clouds" most of the time. I'm the type of person who could get injured and not even notice it haha
What do you think of daily chores? Boring, but they need to get done.
Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome. I really like Studio Ghibli & Pixar. Also am a fan of a lot of 80's/90's movies
What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why? I don't usually cry much..... but I did a lot of crying in the past 2 years due to a toxic relationship.
I usually cry when there's an issue that I'm too afraid to take action on, and the emotions get built up inside of me.... eventually I can't take it anymore and need to let it out.
I smile at the little things in life. My friends, my pets, food, music, etc....
Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging? With my friends, outside in nature.
What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself? I have social anxiety & I'm pretty awful at socializing with people. I love talking to people, but I'm horrible at it. People usually see me as distant when I don't want to be.
What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself? I'm very polite & I have good manners. I'm also funny and quick to come up with witty comments.
In what areas of your life would you like help? I want to get over my social anxiety, branch out, and connect with more people. I just have a hard time doing it on my own and need a helping hand.
Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it. I procrastinate a lot until all of my work builds up and I'm running out of time but *also* lacking motivation..... then I have to choose if I really want to do aaalllll of that work, or face the consequences of not getting it done.
What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with? I like open-minded, accepting people. I could get along with anyone of any personality type as long as they aren't judgmental.
I usually get along the best with N types, but I have a few S friends, too.
How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner? I'm constantly conflicted between thinking romance is not essential to life, and craving physical affection & intimacy with a romantic partner.
My ideal partner would simply be someone who is honest, communicative & willing to put in the work to keep the relationship healthy.
If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why? I would want my child to be a kind, responsible person, and I'd make sure to demonstrate those qualities in myself so my child can take after me.
A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction? I might judge them a little bit on the inside, but I usually don't try to debate people. I normally keep quiet in these types of situations. I don't like wasting my energy on arguments.
Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one. I have mixed feelings about society. On one hand, humanity is beautiful, filled with love & compassion & generosity.
On the other hand, humanity is also corrupted, selfish, & killing our own planet.
I think society isn't inherently good or bad.... it all depends on how you look at it.
How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them? I choose my friends based on who I "click" with, and feel comfortable around.
When I become friends with someone, I let loose and say what comes to mind. I'm often reserved, but I'm completely the opposite around my friends, and have a tendency to be loud, giggly, sarcastic & brutally honest.
How do you behave around strangers? I'm always a little bit awkward, but my awkwardness mostly depends on the setting. In a school/work setting, I feel more tense and will act more reserved. But I tend to let loose more at a party, in public with friends, at a club, etc. and will join in on conversations here & there and make comments.
