I'm leaning to ILE.
He seems ILE or LIE, not sure which. He is skeptical but less dogmatically so than others. This suggests a greater level of Ne as opposed to Ni.
ENTP
I can follow his stream of thought without leaving my mental comfort zone. Same cog functions in ego, I guess.
Ti Polr
Why?
It was just a general observation from viewing 3 videos of various lengths of Phil that seemed to make him a likely Ti Polr. I will write a few thoughts of what I viewed overall but need to move on with the day so will leave them for you to consider.
Phil provides many indications of previous experiences of others thinking he wasn’t thinking clearly and somehow from there his skepticism has developed and is certainly his way of dealing with this issue.
His focus is on describing how he himself began to understand and see that what he thought wasn’t necessarily what was.
He now has a goal to attain a rational reasonable world.
He has also mentioned that his brain wasn’t wired for skeptical thinking but for faith and it takes much practice to think skeptically.
He seems to have gone from one extreme of being not too thoughtful on subjects but ‘into’ them to now debunking previous beliefs and attempting to be an across-the-board skeptic who says he desires to assist others use reason when thinking something through - is this thinking of himself as a kind of expert/mentor in the area in which he struggled?
When talking on these issues from what I’ve viewed he somehow presents that these subjects are still causing him pain and it seems like he was called a lot of names like ‘stupid’ etc.
He also talks about a kind of instinctive resistance against his wife at times when she thinks he is being stupid though it seems likely that she is just attempting to tell him it’s not correct.
His skepticism seems to have evolved from pain, hurt and anger likely caused to his Polr function where one is not too capable of picking up information and dislikes being criticised for it’s lack.
I think it’s something along the lines of being unvalued, sensitive and painful, “I know I'm not any good at this so just shut up and leave me alone."
He conveys in an Se/Ne type way of metaphor that if you pound in the nail you will destroy the wall and smaller swings will cause minimal damage - this could possibly be life learnt from having Ni in 5th position.
In particular the ESFp has a pattern of failing to consider the consequences or implications of their actions.
However I am unsure if ENFp or ESFp is more likely for his type.

I say he has the prankster humor style of ILE / ENTp
Phil and his "big instrument"
He say things in discussions that are funny but can be seen as :Fi:-PoLR.
