Sounds very Beta. Some enneagram 6 stuff is going on as well.

"Meanwhile in acting school, I was, for the first time, discovering playwrights and characters and plays that had nothing to do with the military, but were somehow describing my military experience in a way that before, to me, was indescribable, and I felt myself becoming less aggressive, as I was able to put words to feelings for the first time, and realizing what a valuable tool that was, and when I was reflecting on my time in the military, I wasn't thinking on the stereotypical drills and discipline and pain of it, but rather, these small, intimate human moments, these moments of great feeling, of friends going AWOL because they missed their families, friends getting divorced, grieving together, celebrating together, all within the backdrop of the military."
I thought he was delta NF based on this quote alone, and I lean strongly toward EII.
Hm, Ne creative maybe?
I like ESI-Fi 4w5 sp/so. Although he is in the 4-6-8 reactive triad (in contrast to Obama who is clearly not a reactive triader), I'm not seeing the usual six markers of issues with authority, pugnaciousness ("assertive bluffing"), self-protection, and empathy/defense for the underdog. He is in a more soft, sensitive, self-absorbed place. So 4 > 6. He also speaks in a way that sounds tonally robotic and is not argumentative like a raging demon, so sp/so like Obama rather than so/sp like ******.
