Do you find Arnold Schwarzenegger (when he was younger) physically/sexually attractive?
nah... greater than average physical strength is unimpressive at best
The media portrays women as going crazy over guys with muscular bodies. :?
My spontaneous reaction after reading your question. "Hah!" as in "I don't think so."
Are you a girl?Quote:

No.Quote:

I blame the media. They have created this survival of the fittest mentality.
It's not the media. It's biology. We're programed to judge ourselves in this way.
In past epochs, male members of the human species were more likely to survive, and consequently better fit to protect and provide for their offspring, if they were physically stronger and larger. Women members of the species were more likely to attract a potential mate and bear children if they were more sexually desirable. When men judge themselves, they covertly think to themselves: "Am I stronger/more intimidating (and thus more likely to survive) than that person?" When women judge themselves, they covertly say to themselves: "Am I better looking/more sexually desirable (and thus more likely to bear children) than that person?"
Yes, I know I sound like a Chauvinist pig right now, but for the vast majority of people, these underlying biological relics are still alive and well. Certain facets of the media only portray (although, admittedly isolate and magnify) these inborn inclinations. Our society (well, most of the societies still extant on this planet) have evolved past a hunter-gatherer stage.
Perhaps if you'd chosen a representative of the male gender that conforms more to current tastes you would have gotten different results. For example orlando bloom was a favorite for awhile (I don't know if that has changed).Quote:

Its a competition between women. Women will usually talk bad about other women (how they're dressed, their make-up, their mates etc.) in some sort of effort to make the other woman look bad or make themselves look better.Quote:

Women judge each other very harshly. It gets ugly.
I think Orlando Bloom is adorable, but he is a bit girly. Really, guys like Joquain Phoenix and Christian Bale, who are more masculine (but not caricatures of what men think women like) but still very handsome, are ideal IMO.
Oh I think Jude Law is among the most gorgeous men out there too, but he's more handsome now that he's a bit older. Even though he's losing his hair.
I have always wondered about this. My Ex would look far better without makeup. She looked more natural.Quote:

Actually, as in any phenomena, there is a inverted paraboloid that describes this phenomena. Over a certain level, bodily muscularity is useless if not detrimental since it counters flexibility speed and agility, which of course were necessary for survival. That's also why the women here of the forum are yucking at Arnold of course.Quote:

And I think that great physical strength is very sexy. Unfortunately I can't say the same about huge muscles. I like the thin vertical line that leads to the belly-button.
And lol. Something I found then I did a google search. Gotta-see category! You have got to see it! :D
I remember reading something a while back about flexibility being correlated with physical charisma.Quote:

Finding shirts with these arms might prove to be a bit difficult...

Actually I find bodybuilders ok. If I had naturally bigger muscles I might have tried to be one :D
However I think swimmers have rather good and balanced bodies. A bit thin somehow but still ok.

Yes swimmers always have nice bodies. One of the reasons I put my daughter in swim classes at the YMCA is because of all the college boys who teach swim classes and work as lifeguards there.

You didn't ask me but in my opinion swimmers body cries "HEALTHY". Where Arnolds Body cries "ARTIFICIAL". So I would say women are naturally more likely to be attracted to whatever looks naturally strong and healthy. Arnold doesn't look very natural but instead quite artificial and fake. Arnold's body doesn't directly reflect the quality of his genes because of the perceived artificiality. Anyways there are probably people out there who choose "UNNATURAL" over "NATURAL" for whatever reason. Like there are men who like artificial boobs even though they really don't symbolize anything about the quality of the woman's genes.Quote:

Almost as if the underlying assumption was that women are different. Well, yes, we are - but not THAT different! Blake's questions don't have any exotic or outlandish answers at all; just human ones. We are human and as humans we like attractiveness... and we like it when the attractiveness looks natural instead of artificial. Aren't most men like that as well?Quote:

Hmm....
I feel the same way about muscular guys (as in musclebound) as many guys probably feel about a high maintenance 10 female.
The first thing that pops to my head is that they care about appearances far more than I do. That they care so much about their superficial outward appearance they are willing to spend a great deal of time doing so...time not spent on developing their brain or self-improvement in other areas of their life to make them a really well rounded person.
Just as it would be rare to find some muscle bound guy who didn't put that level of sustained effort into their appearance, its also rare to find a woman willing to put that level into her appearance who doesn't suffer from a level of self-centredness.
I guess in a weird way I actually see it is a sign of weakness. To have to promote your physical a lot because maybe what's underneath isn't quite so hot.
I tend to guy's who aren't extreme in either way. Slender guys who seem to have problem actually gaining weight to guys a bit bigger than average but in a Teddy Bear Cuddly way, not muscley or obese.
What really counts for me is what's underneath...brains, talent, and character.
When are you going to end with this stereotypical crap? First, S and N, now, fit != brainz.... :8*Quote:

Ectomorphs are usually the most predisposed towards both studies and long-distance running, and the correlation is strenghtened by the fact that people that have the willpower to excercise frequently usually also have the necessary will power to do their assignments, at least IMEQuote:
