It isn't too terribly far off in my case but I think it's got questionable validity in typing someone.

oops sorry, you asked about what we think, but i think everyone just posted their test results :p
i honestly don't know much about Associative socionics theory, but according to the site and the tests, it seems to be based around using color/imagery preferences to determine a person's sociotype. if you understand socionics as the information-based system that it is, this isn't really as crazy as it might sound, IMO. color is just another kind of information, and can be pretty influential on a person's behavior (including subconsciously), that's why companies will often spend a lot of money to design just the right logo/color scheme for their businesses, for example. socionics says that everyone has conscious and unconscious information preferences, so a person's reaction to various colors/images might be just another way to determine what these preferences might be.
Color psychology (some related, interesting info here): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_psychology
frankly i'm pretty impressed that two separate associative tests gave me close results to my actual sociotype, with one result giving me ILI and another Ip temperament. that's pretty impressive considering that 99% of the test questions only ask you to choose which color/pattern/image you prefer, and ask hardly anything direct about your behavior or how you think. i'd be interested in knowing how Associative socionics relates color preferences to information metabolism preferences, dichotomies, the Model A blocks, etc.
New images added since the last time I took it but results the same.
For the image test:
first try, no result
second try,
Jack London
Balzac
