SQUISH
A "crush" on someone that is not associated with a desire for a romantic or sexual relationship. The desire to get to know them and be important to them is purely platonic in nature.
Characterized by admiration, respect and affection for a person.
Usually involves feelings generally associated with having a crush on someone i.e. feeling happy when they talk to you, caring a lot about their opinion of you, looking forward to seeing them, thinking about them a lot, intense happiness when your feelings are reciprocated, etc.
I've had a "squish" on almost all of my close friends before.
It seems like So/Sx people usually have "squishes" on friends.
Pretty sure an So/Sx person made this.

What else is So/Sx? I think I have it covered.
"A minute later she asked me if I loved her [his dead mother]. I told her it didn’t mean anything but that I didn’t think so."
After a lot more of this:
"As if that blind rage had washed me clean, rid me of hope; for the first time, in that night alive with signs and stars, I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world. Finding it so much like myself—so like a brother, really—I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again. For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hate."
– Mersault, The Stranger by Albert Camus
1000 Ways to Die #0: Always Tell the Truth, Especially Far More than is Requested
Maybe who we are beyond all ideas is "dead" though, anyways. If there were never an idea of myself in my mind again, I'm actually pretty sure I would be dead.
Mersault: Super So/Sx
Social dominant, Sexual 2nd, Self-Preservation blindspot (SO/SX) "The Intense Appealer"
• Mindset: "If I can get close to people with merging/intensity, I can make sure of and keep improving my position and inclusion in the group/world."
• Has strong one to one social skills but can be uncomfortable in group settings
• Cultivate many relationships, involved when in the presence of someone they’re interested in, but have difficulty sustaining these bonds when they are apart
• Seem flightly/rootless, willing to adapt and mirror others to connect
• May be political, but is more pragmatic and less partisan than SO/SP
• May be attuned to pop culture or latest trend
• Aren’t as concerned with having roots on land or material items of significance
• Want to create lasting connections with those they are interested in, the best friend
• Archetypes: The Strolling Minstrel, regalia, jester, the mayor
• Missing SP earth, lacking the dull weight, stick-in-the-mud quality of earth
• Butterfly, shimmer and sparkle unsullied by dirt and seriousness/mundane concerns
• Breakup of the monotony of hardened routines, incapacitation/difficulty moving forward in certain areas in life
• Practical immaturity, nomadic, no roots
• Wide, ubiquitous presence, hard to grasp, up-in-the-air, wishy-washy, wide-ranging passion and interest
• Inherent kind of intensity about others - engaging them, understanding them; seems to 'relax' among people, not necessarily engaging them just spending time with people for them is like being in a hot, relaxing bath
• Dangerously magnetic charisma, perfected, elegant social appearance & competence, ability to make everyone relax, often floats from group to group or person to person with grace and ease, feeling close to no one while inspiring others to feel close to them; selectivity within social sphere; inherent kind of social elegance makes for a pickier person
• Acute emotional perception and 'people awareness', they readily share these perceptions with others, so can make for spell-binding councelors, life-coaches, etc.
• The social world (i.e. culture, history, media) is asexual so, when stressed, the SO/SX can struggle to build romantic relationships. This can be confusing for other people because the intensity of intellectual and emotional connection i.e. friendship, may lend itself to romance but nothing happens
• The least sober stacking. SP imparts some grounding, so when it's last, it feels like there's not a place to plug into practicality. And SX/SO at least has some focused drive (even, perfectionism) from the SX-firstness.
• SO/SX is all about the narrative and symbiotic needs. Image story theater and, the story. Very clever and hyper-observant of others, can be constantly manipulative in an obsessive way, planning and working to gain what they want from others, networking on cruise control, happy to tell white lies and bend a story for a desired outcome. Honesty comes second to symbiotic needs. Skilled in the application of communication skills as a tool and charm and grace in a comforting way for people to relax and trust the interlace of the SO/SX. If one is compatible with the SO/SX in interests and shared values, they are one of the most insightful and interesting and entertaining people to converse with and truly care about other people and seek to share their understanding via gentle connection of mind and heart.
• Pair Bonding: Needs friendly bonds with mate, groups of friends, and community at large
• Energy: Mechanical energy -> Chemical energy (-> = then)
Focus on the interaction of things, and how their “chemical energy” influences these interactions. They use their “chemical energy” to help them interact better. They seek a bond with everything they interact with.
• SO-first - identify with being socially adaptive
• SP-last - messy, scattered
• soft and sparkly
• concerned with the connections between different people/members of the collective
• warm, outward all-encompassing focus soaks gently inward
Why do SO/SX's like cultivating friendship bonds?
SO/SX's infuse sexuality into social relations
SX ---> into ---> SO

Well I wouldn't say my happiness largely depends on other people.. like every stacking depends on at least one other person to make them happy or fulfill some needs an humans are social beings in general.
BUT life definitely feels more fulfilling when I feel I am doing important stuff and am appreciated by others, or have them recognise my contributions as valuable. I would also say I looove to meet new people when I am at social events (though I can be awkward and shy in the beginning.. atleast sometimes, lol).. like I hate being stuck in one group forever and ever, always with the same people when I could meet many more (yet I value very intimate and special friendships.. but only with 'chosen' individuals, whom I really enjoy being with).
I sometimes am definitely much more into my close friendships than in romance actually.. like it is weird, but I relate to valuing friendship above everything almost. Having that one special best friend with whom you could do and share everything with was definitely my dream since ages and being favoured and appreciated over everybody else, while not being romantically involved (sounds weird lol). I was also always envious when I saw other people have so many good friends or have a friend they could really connect to, have fun with and talk about topics they would really enjoy and when they actually got all the love back they gave. I personally as IEI didn't meet many compatible people in the past.. like many ESE girls probably had it easier to find a bestie because they are much more common in my experience, so it is easier to find people from your quadra who 'accept' and 'value' the same stuff as you. Always hung out with lots of Ne types because of intuitive topics, but it never really clicked. I feel much better around Se-doms, but I always felt I couldn't keep up, haha.
I think me being so-first might have developed either because my mother 'gave' me my instinct since I heavily suspect her being so/sx too or because I always struggled with 'so'.. like I always had atleast a few friends and there were times were I was kinda popular (and lots of times I wasn't lmao), but I barely in my life felt like I found these really amazing friends eveyone else seemed to have, like a real connection where you could share everything.
Tbh I hate all these mainstream music references.. so I will post some music I deem so/sx in their vibe, which are not stereotypical.

There aren't always several people or lots of 'sexual' interactions/ actions in a video or picture I post, but I also go by vibe "light, soft, airy, breezy, open, bouncy, electric, colourful, youthful, intense, flowy" etc., you name it. The so/sx chat is definitely too cliché and stereotypical, like ultimately too boring. There should be more interesting so/sx content.

I think Madonna is Sx/Sp...
But sure, you'll probably be able to find MVs that seem more So/Sx.
I see the same with Justin Bieber. The MV I posted earlier was very much So/Sx, but I'd say he is actually an Sx/Sp artist. A lot of famous musicians are. Elvis Presley, another iconic one. Just because someone is in the public eye does not necessarily mean they are SO first. Etc. People can also "move" to certain instincts, depending on their current life situation and context. But that does not mean the person actually values or "treasures" that instinct.
Quote:
Life Phase and Instincts
We all move through these instincts at various points in our lives. When we are ill, we are all in the self preservation instinct, because we are likely tending to our bodies, or when we are eating or cooking we are attending to our self preservation needs. Conversely when we interact in a group we are in our social instinct, and when we are looking for a mate or bonding deeply with another person we are in our sexual instinct. However, to the extent to which we are monitoring these concerns consciously or unconsciously all the time that is likely our dominant instinctual subtype.
Katherine and David Fauvre illuminate that at various life phases one instinct may be more dominant than others. For example the sexual instinct often awakens for everyone in adolescence or when we fall in love for the first time, whereas later life tends to highlight self preservation issues because of the various health issues that begin to arise for most human beings. Our social instinct may flare up in early adulthood (college years) and adolescence as the peer group and the norms of that group become important.

i watched some interviews with her and listened to a few albums. everything i've seen of her is pretty much so/sx and most definitely not social-last.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jZiXZj3g6E
i already posted this in another thread, but this interview, for example, clearly shows how her primary focus in life is on the social sphere and social issues.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4U93frWrToI
she's sx/so
she has an sx-secondary/playful approach to sx-stuff. also syn-flow. (this is also very obvious in her lyrics. i've just listened to a few songs of her 'ray of light' album, that's pure so/sx in vibe and style)
at the same time she is much more focused on the social realm. also also more vulnerable in it than an sx/so would be. (e.g. from minute 10:00 - 12:00 in this video she talks about how she sometimes feels wounded by things people say. she even looks slightly uncomfortable talking about it so publically. these are mostly so-first problems. https://youtu.be/G7cme41o6tw?t=10m1s)
She revolutionized the music industry by being the first woman to incorporate female sexuality in her lyrics, and also being the first woman to have complete control over her career and image. This is kind of typical for sx/so's, they (have the power to) revolutionize things because they bring the fire and water element (pushing the envelope, norm breaking, risk and excitement) from sx and compared to sx/sp they have the motivation and interest to make this matter in the world and make a change.
Quote:
Her contributions on music are generally praised by critics, which have also been known to induce controversy. Tony Sclafani from company MSNBC felt that her Madonna’s impact and effect on the future direction of music bests The Beatles, even that quarter century after Madonna emerged, artists still use her ideas and seem modern and edgy doing so.[61] Laura Barcella in her book Madonna and Me: Women Writers on the Queen of Pop (2012) wrote that "really, Madonna changed everything the musical landscape, the '80s look du jour, and most significantly, what a mainstream female pop star could (and couldn't) say, do, or accomplish in the public eye."[62] Similar to Barcella, Joe Levy Blender editor in chief, "opened the door for what women could achieve and were permitted to do".[63]In the music industry, Madonna was the first female to have complete control of her music and image.[64][65] Authors noted that before Madonna, records labels determined every step of artists, but she introduced her style and conceptually directed every part of her career; the music industry was the foundation to permanently change the way the record companies treat artists.[1] Journalist Carol Benson wrote that Madonna entered the music business with definite ideas about her image, but it was her track record that enabled her to increase her level of creative control over her music.[66] Many years after, she founded Maverick Records became the most successful "vanity label" in the history of music. While under Madonna's control it generated well over $1 billion for Warner Bros. Records, more money than any other recording artist's record label.[67][68]
Critics felt in retrospect that Madonna's presence is defined for changing contemporary musichistory for women's, mainly rock, danceand pop scene.[24][61][62][69][70][71][72] Also, she is cited that open the doors for the future hip-hop explosion and approach to sex to her music.[61] Erin Vargo from online magazine in popular culture, felt that "Madonna has fought for freedom of expression by female artists. Her legacy has paved the way for today’s pop, hip-hop, and rock artists to get into their own groove".[73]The Times stated: "Madonna, whether you like her or not, started a revolution amongst women in music ... Her attitudes and opinions on sex, nudity, style and sexuality forced the public to sit up and take notice".[74]The New York Post writer Brian Niemietz, who found that Madonna revolutionized dance music much the same way Elvis Presley invented gospel and rock and roll.[75]
Side note:
Thought this was interesting and proving a point since John Lennon (5w4), Bob Dylan (4w5) and Elvis Presley (3w2) were all sx/so's too.Quote:
A pop dialectic, never seen since The Beatles's reign, which allowed her to keep on the edge of tendency and commerciality".[72] Also, Caryn Ganz from the same magazine wrote that "Madonna is the most media-savvy American pop star since Bob Dylan and, until she toned down her press-baiting behavior in the nineties, she was the most consistently controversial one since Elvis Presley.[
And yeah, social last is a ridiculous suggestion for her when she goes on about social issues so much.
i was somewhat aware of her provocative sexual image and didn't particularly pay much attention to her and her music until i watched a few videos + listened to her songs. i posted the video to the song 'love profusion' already above, what's so provocative about that? i know plenty of sx/sos who would even be slightly repulsed by it because it's so apolitical and putting romantic love above everything in a very sentimental way. in a way it upholds the 'status quo' instead of revolutionizing the social sphere. her videos which are more overtly sexual (opposed to romantic) are not really upsetting either in the sense that they go against a broader notion of 'humanity'. i guess most of her songs are about relationships, love, sex, erotic aesthetics and there's probably a religious/spiritual side to as well to her songs. i personally don't see how this is actually provocative in an contra-flow way. and especially in regards to sx either too soft and sentimental or just playful/teasing. sometimes you see social themes in the background of her songs, but you can clearly see it's her most neurotic instinct she pays the most attention to (especially in her personal life outside music, or the things she discusses in interviews). either a complete over-focus or a complete rejection of it (in a way an so-second would never do).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgDxv0Qg_Rg
i also recently watched her short film 'secretprojectrevolution' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXfXrl4K2D4) and that's clearly a so/sx narrative as well. that's a typical so/sx type of "revolution" (or syn-flow in general). i personally recognise the themes as well. the primary drive behind which moves her into action of putting this message out there is the perceived social oppression she wants to fight against with the goal of freedom of expression and individual freedom without having to reject a broader concept of humanity. she perceives herself to be a "freedom fighter" who wants to start a "revolution of love" (rather than violence) which will overcome separation and include "all people". sx is not the issue, but the solution. (both in the sense of love and individual/sexual/emotional expression) that's over-idealistic syn-flow politics. (which i have seen regularly criticised by contra-flow social-types.)
(i think the photographer with whom she shot the film together is probably sx/sp and a lot of her dancers seem sx/so or (or sx-first), so that contributes to the gritty aesthetics. but the message itself is pure so/sx )
compare that to kesha (who's sx/so) and her song 'prayer' where her traumatic experiences as a sexual assault victim propel her to plead for some justice (or at least closure) in the social sense. that's an example of so-second.
Kesha is so/sx. Scattered as hell. Plus Kesha is not famous for having revolutionized or changed something in a big way. She's famous for like being a trashy drunk fame whore, lol (I type her 7)
Where do you see Kesha being so neurotic about sex and partners, high "drug addiction" to a person, the need to be attractive, the "mating dance" game etc? I dont see it as her first at all. But its obvious in Madonnas case. This music video (and song) for example is pure sx:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79fzeNUqQbQ
Plus, you seem to ignore the fact that Madonna revolutionized the music industry forever with being open with her sexuality as a woman, and you don't realize that this very thing is contra-flow, for some reason. But you see Kesha, who makes songs about being drunk and partying, just like everyone does, being contraflow and revolutionary and against the public. Okay..
i know only 3 songs by kesha. the kind of reckless abandon she displays in her videos are sx/so. just look at the video of "die young". that also self-destructively goes against self preservation in a way an so/sx never would (publically) do. the social instinct wants freedom, peace and keeping everyone safe. rather than 'dying young'. then there's the incident that she filed lawsuit against dr.luke because of allegations of sexual assault and involved in a legal battle (and read some things how her career was perceived to be over because of this). now she finally has her comeback and discusses her personal battle and her struggle on her album. this kind of personal battle is very socially courageous and daring, imo. maybe it's not so easily perceivable for a social last. she fights for her music and her career and driven by her personal issues. (rather than a wider social sphere than an so/sx would) .
this doesn't look like pure sx to me. there's a strong sexual component and there's a strong social component in it.Quote:
But its obvious in Madonnas case. This music video (and song) for example is pure sx:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79fzeNUqQbQ
being openly sexual is not solely an sx/so thing. i think it's her secondary instinct and thus, the most visible. but her underlying concerns are social.Quote:
Plus, you seem to ignore the fact that Madonna revolutionized the music industry forever with being open with her sexuality as a woman, and you don't realize that this very thing is contra-flow, for some reason. This one too:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Np_Y740aReI
Another thing to consider is that Madonna is a 3, and 3s of all instincts seem more like social instinct than other enneatypes.
look, Kesha almost only makes songs about partying and having fun, and singing about "us" (soc) (like, "join us" or whatever, "you cant stop us". She never (from what ive seen. very rarely at least) sings about a sexual/romantic other and it doesnt appear neurotic at all. She's obviously obsessed with "us".
Im convinced she's so/sx 7w6. Probably the same tritype as Miley Cyrus (who is so/sx too but 3) 739. They both lack the sexual intensity and seriousness of an sx first.
If you want to see a sx/so 7w6, there's Adele. Sx 7 is kind of a counter-type since they're opening themselves to the destruction of sx, so they appear more vulnerable and are more able to be open with their sad side than other 7s. Making sad love songs is basically what Adele is known for, which is interesting for a 7 (but its because of sx first). Yet you can see how in the end of the video below she still makes a joke like a classic 7 :P

The Lightside is engaging, ingratiating even, and is the closest to what has become the stereotype for So/Sx. Unmistakably friendly, amusing, eager to attend to others in a personal, customized way. Also hesitant or unwilling to upset the delicate chemistry or harmony of individual or group dynamics, since So cohesion is at a premium.
