It depends on the problem for me. If it has to do with something I care about, I will research all day long until I'm assured that I've found the "right" solution; if it has to do with something I don't care about, I'll find a quick solution and say, "good enough". It's kinda like "no holds barred" versus "whatever works". By the way, you're super cute.
I answered that I do both. Although,I'm not sure I'd say it's equal as far as focus or time spent. Symptoms are the sign or evidence of a problem and therefore I generally take a decisive route; tackle getting rid of or creatively dealing with any all symptoms of problems. Then depending on the situation, I will either consider the problem solved or if there seems to be a deeper issue, I'll then dig deeper.
