Wow, did I read this wrong :)
Welcome back.
cruelly realistic description of this Mirror
really? how so?
so far the only real life example of these relations I've encountered has been this couple from Dr. Phil's show - http://drphil.com/shows/show/1906/ (full episode) - but their relationship issues didn't seem to have much relevance to anything written in Stati's article (control, subjugation and suppression of each other's will, etc.) but were rather rooted in some kind of childhood complexes that they both kept replaying within their marriage
even this one embellishes the relationship with spectacular conflicts. The root is not far from truth ... in the sense that she kind of renders pretty well what LSI can think of Sle if they´re wrapped together in the same household or something. With friends or acquaintances it´s much more of a matter of choice so I don´t really think "suppression" of opinion and personality is a problem. But as with many of Stratiyevskaya´s descriptions, I have the impression it all turns into a caricature at some point. By no means was there ever any physical violence involved --- looks like certain pathological or at least socially anomalous cases were chosen as examples for some reason.
