and now it's time for... name that function!!!
"That means they look at facts, they always have something up their sleeve, they will present the facts in a way that suits their purpose and they never admit that they are wrong. They all have rather impressive ways of finding a roundabout way to always end up one ahead."
If it sounds like it's a combination of functions, please state what those functions are.

Well to me it sounds more like NeTi or SeTi. If you talk about a purely
intellectual debate I would go for NeTi. In my experience it is close to
impossible to make an ENTp admit to losing a debate. If their initial
argument doesn't hold water they will swap back and forth between
viewpoints very quickly and continuously introduce new material so fast
that no one can follow the discussion (especially their opponent is left jaw
open) and thus they create an impression on winning the debate even if
the end result is nothing but chaos in everyone's minds. NeTi lives for
debates. It is their favourite world.
SeTi is not as intellectually agile but they can deliver well timed punchlines
that KO most opponents. The part that says "they have something up their
sleeve" sounds more like SeTi than NeTi. NeTi is more likely to generate
new stuff as they go. NeTi are master improvisers. SeTi is not as good in
improvising. However, they are very accurate observers who see people's
weaknesses. SeTi is likely to hide their best cards "in their sleeve" until it
is time to go for the "kill".
About Te types...I see how TeNi and TeSi may have problems admitting
they are wrong because they pretty much always believe they are right.
When they open their mouth only "right" things come out (or thus they
like to believe). However, TeNi and TeSi are not someone who "hide
things in their sleeves". They are likely to put everything they have on the
table right away and believe they are right. Then they give their opponent
a chance to kill their argument. They are likely to push the opponent hard
before they admit they are wrong. Admitting to be wrong is pretty much
like failing themselves. So much they trust their argument. However TeNi
and TeSi are more interested in getting a productive outcome from a
discussion than to "end up one ahead" or just "win a debate". If they are
actually wrong they are likely to admit it and have lot of respect for the
person who managed to "kill" their argument.
One thing to keep in mind is TeNi and TeSi don't like to debate against
opponents like NeTi or SeTi who use "dirty tactics". They like to keep
debates short and clean. In case of TeSi they like their debates VERY
short. Preferably no debate at all. TeNi is probably more open to debates.
Anyways, if their opponent can't come up with claims they respect they
are likely to just quit the debate instead of going on trying to convince
them or publicly crush them.
Now this is how I see it at the moment. How this applies to people here?
I can't tell. I haven't interacted with people enough to say for sure.
