Pluto was the only planet out of the nine planets that orbited the Sun in a lopsided fashion, while the other planets did it in a circular fashion. The existence of dwarf planets in the Kuiper belt that were larger than Pluto though further away from the sun that orbited the Sun in a similar lopsided fashion was what prompted the removal of Pluto as a planet. I have no qualms about the removal of Pluto as a planet for this reason, however if Pluto orbited the Sun in a circular fashion then perhaps it should of remained classified as a planet.
