This gave me an idea (because 9-6=3). Enneagram types are basically whichever of the 9 fit you the best, in order*. So if you were to reverse that order, typing yourself based on what doesn't fit you instead of what does, what would you be?Quote:

Interesting question! My tritype is 125 (or 152, not sure how to tell), so any variation of the 836 tritype is probably least like me. I'm about as far away from 8 as you can get; I often wish I could go after what I want as automatically as they do (or any Id type for that matter). Any influence of the 3 or 6 are either nonexistent in my tritype or waaayyy down the line in the wings.
837 is also an option, but ultimately I do feel the energy of 7 as my integration point and it's closely related to 5, so 6 still seems the least likely Head fix for me.

I think I may be 469, test as 459/1. I've also considered 7 and it has been suggested. It seems I'm not clear on my head type. It may have been brief 136 description I came across recently that had me like :hide:, maybe 126, I'm not sure. Unsure what the inverse of 469 would be... I guess as per test scores my least likely tritype would be 378...says Mover Shaker, makes sense lol.

I'm 8w9 Sx/Sp, and probably 854/845. I used to think 853/835.

When I'm stable and better handle setbacks, I test as enneagram 1. When I isolate myself and restrict my experiences I test as enneagram 4.
I have never tested as 3, 7 or 8 (core or wings).

I think maybe your tritype is just more a short hand way of describing your e-type and lines of integration and wing or wings. But maybe with a slightly different emphasis, not sure. The more I thought about ennegram the more I started to see more than one type in a person (maybe seeing the person's personality more completely the more I thought about them). But I do think maybe you could give a person more than one e-type/ even tritype. I think I'd struggle to see one person as all e-types though. Maybe that is the same with astrology though.Quote:

Tritype or whatever it is I'm seeing..seems to be helping me in get a bit closer to finding an appropriate partner. I don't find it obvious how to tell apart base/creative subtypes but I think I'm starting to pick up on a vibe that is the right balance for me which I learnt through thinking about tritype. When you look at the double/triple condition aspects of the tritype it starts to become a bit clearer how to spot someone who compliments you E.g I am 946 which is withdrawn, reactive etc..so I need someone who is a tritype that is assertive, competent etc..arguably I am just getting better at spotting duals in general (and other types) including types of the right subtype for me. For many of the duals I've met, I feel quite confident in assigning them a tritype. Maybe I am seeing something that someone else wouldn't be able to see..but maybe someone similar to me would see the same as me?
But whatever I'm seeing it feels helpful, and makes me feel like I can trust my instincts better (not force myself to like someone, and not be too harsh on someone or too idealistic). Hope so anyway lol.

Ok I see what you mean. Similar to people indulging in stereotypical beliefs about socionics types. I guess the old-school enneagram ideas can be a bit depressing and unrelatable and adding the instincts and wings and tritypes makes it seem a bit easier to understand and think about.Quote:
