Prog Rock strikes me as rather Alpha NT, not implying others can't enjoy it, just that the thought that goes behind it often strikes me as :Ne: + :Ti:.
I like King Crimson, that's about it.
I think I've heard just a couple bands so I can't say much if anything.
Rush and Dream Theater are Alpha (less sure about DT though)
Geddly Lee - ILE
Neil Peart - LII
Alex Lifeson - SEI/ESE
Don't know what the heck that is. Second name sounds weird already, thanks anyway.
This is alright:

YUP! :) I'm not very good at telling what band belongs to which genre, they often have elements of many, and I guess many of these have elements of both prog and metal, but anyways..
Some favourites that fall under the prog tag in my library:
Amplifier
Camel
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Frank Zappa
King Crimson
Kingston Wall
Ozric Tentacles
Pink Floyd
Porcupine Tree
Riverside
Rush
Metal favs:
Nine Inch Nails
Tool
Type O Negative (gothic metal)
I'm also a grunge girl, and many grunge bands/albums/songs have a metal feel to them:
Alice in Chains (especially this has a "metallic" feel to it)
Audioslave
Mad Season
Soundgarden
Stone Temple Pilots
And I used to like Dream Theater when I was younger.
Yes grunge ftw! I'm mostly into rock of different varieties, sometimes heavy, sometimes light. I've heard dream theater before, they are pretty good.
I listen to metal a good bit. :D
Melodic death metal is my favorite genre I thinkkk.
