Functional Breakdown-- Identity, Kindred, and Look-A-Like
Identity
Base and Base Interaction
Your Identical shares your Base function. This discovery will likely delight and excite both of you. But, as the phrase “too much of a good thing” suggests, it will be easy for you and your Identical to expend too much time and energy pursuing Base interests together, while neglecting other important aspects of your psyches.
Creative and Creative Interaction
Your Identical shares your Creative function, making him a like-minded, comfortable friend in this area. You may find yourselves naturally dividing duties in this area, based on the situation.
Role and Role Interaction
Your Identical shares your Role function. At times when one or both of you feel pressure upon your (also shared) Vulnerable function, you may begin asserting yourselves in your Role in defense of your Vulnerability. At other times, pressure upon your Role may cause undue negative focus in this area, requiring the other to bring you back down to a more stable state.
Vulnerable/PoLR and Vulnerable/PoLR Interaction
Your Identical shares your Vulnerable function. Just as a person enjoys coming across individuals who share his interests, you will probably find some relief—a sense of “I’m not alone after all”—upon discovering your Identical’s shared weakness.
This will become impractical, however, in situations requiring one or the other of you to engage in a Vulnerable-related activity. You may find yourselves glancing nervously at each other, each waiting for the other to make the first move. If this goes on for too long with no relief, one of two things is likely to happen: either the two of you will decide to put your heads together, utilizing your shared strengths to work around the issue; or else one or both of you may end up falling into a frustrated expression of your shared Role functions in defense of your Vulnerability.
Suggestive/Dual-Seeking and Suggestive/Dual-Seeking Interaction
Your Identical shares your Suggestive function. Since neither of you has much capacity in this area, but both of you need it, this can result in the adoption of a few different methods to acquire what you need: You can of course get what you need from somebody else, but this may not be practical in cases where you and your Identical are supposed to be sticking together and helping each other; you can ignore the need for a time, though eventually your ability to function effectively in other areas will suffer; or you can draw on your experience of what has worked for you in the past, and share these experiences with your Identical in hopes that they will help him, too.
Mobilizing/Hidden Agenda and Mobilizing/Hidden Agenda Interaction
Your Identical shares your Mobilizing function, or Hidden Agenda. Although weak, you naturally feel the urge to improve yourself in the area of your HA. As a result, you will find yourself putting a good deal of time and effort into your HA.
For you and your Identical to both be working in this area at the same time, however, is likely to be regarded as redundant. As a result, you will naturally fall into a division of duties in this area. As soon as one of you begins exercising your shared HA, the other is likely to begin slacking off, figuring that “If he’s doing it, then why should I?” Likewise, as the one currently laboring in HA pursuits begins to tire, the other may prepare to pick up where the first left off.
Ignoring/Observing and Ignoring/Observing Interaction
Your Identical shares your Ignoring function. This being the case, you and your Identical will probably feel disinclined to ever spend any time together focused in this area. And when you do, it will probably only be in criticizing or critiquing those who actually seem to take it all seriously.
Demonstrative and Demonstrative Interaction
Your Identical shares your Demonstrative function. Since the Demonstrative function tends to manifest itself spontaneously with little conscious thought, you are often not even aware of your own Demonstrative manifestations, and may find yourself a little embarrassed to acknowledge them if and when they are finally pointed out.
With your Identical, you are most likely to fall into the trap of hypocritical criticism in regards to your shared Demonstrative nature. Alternately, when one of you falls into a Demonstrative display, the other may inadvertently join in, which serves to “egg on” the first further, and back and forth until one of you finally recovers enough to point out, “Look at us, we’re being so silly.”
