The Health Group
One of the special groups mentioned in Reinin's Book. Here's Reinin's description:
Members of this group provide each other with additional energy. In 1,5-2 hours of being together all members of the group experience improvement in health condition, normalization of objective parameters such as blood pressure, pulse.
1. A Don Quixote, a Huxley, a Tutankhamon, a Balzac. Ni/Ne base
2. A Napoleon, a Zhukov, a Dumas, a Gaben. Si/Se base
3. A Dostoevsky, a Dreiser, a Hamlet, a Hugo. Fi/Fe base
4. A Holmes, a Jack London, a Robespierre and a Maxim. Ti/Te base
Has anyone been in such a group? What were your experiences? Do you
think Reinin's description is valid or not?
-
No, but it sounds amazing.
My husband is Ni base and I'm Ne base, so we're halfway there...Now we just need to find another Ne/Ni based couple to hang out with and we're on our way to better health!

I should definitely NOT be placed in the same group with an "Holmes". Conflict usually ensues rather quickly, unless I completely shut down my personality.
-
I live with an LSE and LII, and I've never experienced such a thing, but maybe an LSI would change that.
-
I'm often in setup #1, that is Balzac+Yesenin+Don but my Huxley friend doesn't get along very well with the two others, so the ring is rarely complete...
Dunno if it's healthy...
-
I think what he's getting at is that since everyone is of the same type of function, there is no focus on the weaknesses, which leads to heightened self-esteem?
-
Makes sense. It's clear I don't feel "on my guard" in this particular setup. It's a friendly atmosphere, effusive at times but not "threatening". And we all share some kind of weak S but don't fight over it.
-
It definitely depends more on the persons involved. The wrong Don Quixote would make me feel uncomfortable, etc. And what about my own conditions?
Socionics ignores the human conditions...
-
bump.
I've noticed many times that the person I feel most relaxed and natural with, in each of the quadras, is the person who starts with S like me. Out of all the betas, the easiest ones for me to talk to are the SLEs, so yeah, the health group idea makes sense to me. I'm not saying that those are the *only* people I like, just saying that I can be mostly relaxed and it's easy to communicate.

All 4 Fj's? That sounds highly irritating.
-
And what happens when one of those people is an extremist?
Mathmetical deduction is no replacement for emotive analysis.
-
Yeah, this is actually one of those things that needs to be re-tested in reality, but here I am, an extremely antisocial person talking to people over the computer and not doing experiments in real life.
Supposedly, the health group 'normalizes' people, so that the extremist would become less extreme. But the words 'less extreme' or 'extremist' don't specify exactly what the beliefs and behaviors are, so it's hard to say what would happen.

From personal experience, the Reinin Health Group seems to makes sense. I know I feel much better when interacting with Ne/Ni base types, both on a physical and psychological level. Assuming of course that everyone in the group gets along and conflict/disagreements are far and few between.
