In terms of breast implants specifically, I think there's enough of a cultural bias against it here which is probably quite different from the US. I think a lot of the beauty ideal (within mainstream culture, and god, I know I'm skating on all kinds of dangerous ground here, but hey) is of the natural-beauty-surfer-chick, and when you're lying on a beach in a bikini, well, it is painfully obvious what is real and what is fake. And fakeness, artificiality, is seen as almost 'un-Australian' and pandering to an Americanised beauty aesthetic. I mean, I'm also aware that I can agree with this view because my cup size has never been an issue for me - but for girls who are unhappy with theirs, I'm sure they'll have a very different perspective.
