I'm curious....
I mean to eat more slowly but I never seem to.
The other day I sat eating a salad for a little under an hour. I'm always the last to finish.
Eating fast is a little strange. I dont know. Eating is so pleasurable, why rush it? That's like saying you'd prefer 2 minute sex.
Dunno. I agree it's very pleasurable, but I can't help but eating fast. I eat slowly when I have company/other people to speak with, usually, or when I have nothing else to do after eating. Sex's not the same because I'm not thinking what I have to do next, ahah
If I'm not talking, I'm eating very fast.
If I'm talking then I'm one of the last ones to finish.
And since I'm not really talking most of the occasions I'm eating, that takes precedence.
eating incredibly slowly helps my digestive problems. i chew everything until it is incredibly puree(or try to). It definitely takes more focus, but it helps me feel full longer as well. I just started this recently based on advice from the U.S. national collegiate mountain biking champ who goes to my school. eating slowly helps me prevent overeating and will help me become more lean eventually. It's easier on your body to eat this way and more nutrients are released from the food when they are not being 'chewed' by your stomach acids.
by the way, up until about 2 weeks ago i was wolfing down food as fast as possible.
Depends. Depends if there is a lot of food on my plate or not.
When I think about it, I try to cultivate the habits of eating quickly, listening to quiet things, walking fast, etc. - I consider those behaviors more efficient than the alternatives, and I want to make the most of myself, even in the small things.
This is exactly true for me. If I'm eating with a friend or something I'm usually too busy talking to eat.
I eat fast because eating is a chore for me. I don't like eating usually and the only reason I'll enjoy eating is because the food tastes good the instant I put it in my mouth. Really the only reason I will like eating is for that taste so I'm constantly trying to keep that taste fresh so that I won't stop enjoying the food, because otherwise I won't want to eat it anymore.
Meals I bolt down, usually. If it's a treat or something I really enjoy, I'll try to savour it a bit, but even so it's usually gone pretty quick.
