Independent of intertype relations and quadra values these are my favorite non-Beta types:
INTp-Ni,
ESFj-Fe,
ENTp-Ti,
ESTj,
INFj-Ne,
ESFp-Se
ENFp-Ne
In no particular order..
ESE-Si (less certain on the subtype, but I think the ones I've got on with in the past were Si subtypes)
ILE
SEI
SLE
IEI (seems to vary a lot on the individual with this one, although I haven't really known enough to be certain of any patterns here)
IEE
SLI

SLI, LSI, IEE the best
LSE the worst
IEI and LSI for sure if I'm Gamma
ILI and LIE for sure if I'm Beta
i have found the intertype relations to work out pretty much like it's predicted, but I can get along with and like superficially and from a distance even the most conflicting relationship (for me my superego, ISFj). The type i like most outside my quadra is INTp, I find them fascinating even though I can't really please them. Next I like ESTjs.
Ones I can really like and get along with at a fairly close distance are ISTps and INFps. I'd say that these are my favorite overall types outside my quadra.
I have long-term friendships with members of the following types (non-Beta):
ENTp
INTj
ENTj
INTp
INFj
While I have found members of other types intriguing there's never been enough mutual interest for anything long-term. I think my Si is really undeveloped and I feel sorry for any Si-types that meet me lol
Haha its funny you are saying that, so depending on what type you are your perceptions of the intertype relations will change? I can understand this it would happen to me, but it does show the affect socionics can have on relations :D
I dont really have favourites, my favourites change on a dime. Im impressed that IEE are on the happy list for ILE's? Thats nice to know as i try hard to be liked my them but always feel like im falling short.
Definitely all the Betas.
Alpha:
ISFp
Beta:
INFp

(yes, I am hard to please. :P)
Within my quadra:
Ne-INFj
Si-ESTj
I like IEEs and LIIs in real life, and the SLIs that inhabit this forum.
oh god, ISFps. I have *such* a ridiculous weakness for them. then followed by the rest of alpha.
any deltas > anything else.
IEI (Ni)
SLE (Se)
SLI
ESE (Si)
thats all i can think of at the moment
there are some types i don't really interact much with. hell...i don't even get to interact with my dual.
Delta > Beta/Alpha
IEE > SLI > SLE >
some EIE-Ni, LII, SEI
not much interaction with EIIs, LSIs
ISFps
ENFps, ISTps, INFps, ESTps
in that order
love to ISFps... I love 'em. :)
And ENTps... Had a very good romantic relationship w/one, and still a great friendship.
And ESFps... We seem to get along very well together and have a lot of fun.
And ESTPs... I really admire them--not sure if it's mutual.
I find female LII-s to be the cutest things alive. After being exposed to them I get this incredible urge to hug and snuggle them.
In no particular order:
ESE, EII, and LSI (in some cases).
ILI, ILE, ESI, sometimes Ne-IEE and I've developed a special fondness toward SLIs. :o
ENFps, ENTjs (), ESTps, ISTps
ISTp
ENFp
ESFp
INFp
INFj
ISFj
ISTj
ENFj
For me, it's definitely INFp's and ISFp's at the top of my list.
INFps, some ENFps, and a few ESTps.
Alpha: good for relaxing. Not for doing. Sometimes good discussions.
Beta: difficult to work with but are aware of things I'm not, so I deal with it. Don't give me any power distance bullshit and I'll try to meet you in the middle and not domineer or interrogate you. Dislike hanging out with betas, too much psychological conflict. Having fun and enjoying ourselves are too different.
Gamma: Good to work with. If we have similar interest it can be good discussion.
Delta: for real discussion and real interaction.
No types particularly stand out, in regard to the above.
The different types in my immediate family have enabled me to appreciate different types/quadra values.
For example, my Mom and little bro are alpha (ESFj and INTj, respectively.) My Dad and my older bro are Gamma (ISFj and ESFp, respectively.) I am the only Delta. There are no Betas.
When I first moved away from my family it was a borderline revelation--wow, there are ppl out here who actually think kinda like me!! :) I was 16, going to boarding school--scared shite-less, honestly--but when i got to know an SLI for the first time, it was like i finally fit in.
I want theMime to answer as well, but I know about conflicting relations... I had a conflictor ex - huge fight once a month, broke up 3-4 times, couldn't spend 2 days in the same room without stepping on each other's toes... But we were still good friends. Eventually he (ISTp) met my INFj friend at my wedding and they started dating. I think it's been a year already. :) so cute.
Conflicting relationships are not that hard to keep up really if you try really hard not to step on their toes. You can be friends, but that is all. Nothing more than that.
I have a female friend who is ENTj, we just talk sometimes. I actually said to her today "Two months ago, we used to not be friends, and now we are." She told me "You calmed down."
lol.
I've only been 'friends' with one conflictor (that I'm sure of anyway). He really disliked me, which I found very disturbing. lol He seemed to disapprove of everything I said, no matter how trivial. At the time I knew nothing of socionics and it really bothered me. I would try to analyse everything I said to him - trying to work out what I'd said wrong. lol Funny - I didn't really dislike him though. I sort of admired him.

your conflictor?
your supervisor?
your supervisee?
your supervisee? your supervisor?
good answer ;)
your supervisee?
I think you guys need a refresher on relations of conflict and supervision:
Quote:
These relations require maximum carefulness. Leading function of your conflict partner coincides with your most painful function. He, thus, produces a flood of information about those aspects that you don't pay attention to and don't mention. Communication with a conflicting partner places you under constant tension. There is a sense of impending explosion beneath the surface. Opposite encoding of information leads to a feeling that literally every word of one's conflictor is annoying and brings up internal protest. At times, relations seem to be improving, but at the most inopportune moment conflictor suddenly tells something hurtful to you. Conflict relations can transpire smoothly if both partners are aware of their incompatibility and maintain sufficient distance, carefully trying to maneuver around "sharp corners".
Quote:
Much more strict are the relations of social control or audit. Supervisor's dominant function coincides with Supervisee's most vulnerable and painful function. However, in contrast to the relations of conflict, this situation is not symmetric. Supervisor can monitor every step the Supervisee takes, while Supervisee is powerless to resist this influence: all of his strong features "drown" in the appropriate function of the Supervisor. Supervisee tries to resist and even to fight back: puts on a show of deliberate crudeness, orders the Supervisor around, gives him assignments. Things may even progress to use of physical force. In this manner, Supervisee can create a lot of problems for the Supervisor, but the effect in the opposite direction is much more devastating. Close and prolonged contact with one's Supervisor, for example, in a family situation, can have dire consequences for the Supervisee, even the development of mental illness.
my weakest function is Ti whether I'm Fi-IEE or Ne-IEE, while the strongest function of both Ne-LII and Ti-LII is Ti; this is the basis for relations of supervision:
everything unsavory about supervisory relations follows from thisQuote:
Supervisor's dominant function coincides with Supervisee's most vulnerable and painful function.
You might find this interesting. Not that it greatly expands on my point other than to put forward the theory that subtypes will emphasise either Base and Mobilising (along with the accompanying Ignoring and Vulnerable) or the Creative and Suggestive (along with Role and Demonstrative), with the justification that using logic will dampen ethics and using sensing will dampen intuition and vice versa.
The distinction seems to be one of gradience, that is, a Ne-ENFp is not an ENTp just because intuition (Ne and Ni) and logic (Te and Ti) use are heightened, but nonetheless, more emphasis is placed on intuition and logic instead of sensing and ethics.
It would make sense that with this in mind, you would find types hitting the weak functions of others more or less frequently depending on subtype.
I think the best litmus tests of intertype relations are romantic relationships and working together on a decent sized task that requires exchange of ideas, consensus and so on. It's then that you see the difficulties, rather than hanging out or idle chit chat where far less of the true self comes out.
I'm familiar with the theory of vertical subtypes, and to me it seems so... arbitrary. I do kind of agree with you, that subtypes do play a part in the "intensity" of intertype relations; for example, since Fi blocks Ti, Fi-IEE will feel more scrutinized by Ti-LII than by Ne-LII. However, if given enough time, I think Ne-LII would prove to be just as unbearable as Ti-LII for Fi-IEE, which seems to fit with what you're saying here:
I actually agree with this.
From Alpha: SEI-Si (my boss, woot)
From Beta: ?
From Gamma: ILI-Ni, SEE
Delta:
LSE>EII>SLI/IEE
I love Louie CK.
beta irrationals are closest to home after alpha irrationals for me, with the exception of an occasion lii crush.
i'm drawn to fe-creative and fi-polr... the camaraderie surrounding weakness in te/ fi (and general "who gives a fuck about these things??") is incredible
EII
IEI
SLE
ESE-Si
SEI-Fe
ILI-Ni
ESI-Se
LSI-Se
EIE-Ni
LIE
This one depends on the person, but IEI-Fe. Have met some awesome as well as some crazy ones. ;)
Within my own quadra I strongly prefer LSE-Si to LSE-Te. Don't seem to get along with SLIs much. Other EIIs are hit or miss. IEE-Fis are awesome. :)
ESFp and ENFp. fun, positive, not at all judgmental. ESFp in a large group, they keep everyone having fun. ENFp in a smaller group or one-on-one, interesting conversation and discussion.
Fi-ego types are often easy to get along with.
ENTj and ESFj are really cool.
ILE, LIE, SEI and ESE- works everytime with these- no fuss no effort -easy! (:
1. ILE, SEI
2. SEE/IEE
4.ESE, ILI, LII, EII-Ne - hit or miss, but usually nice and have the potential to be awesome :)
I usually get along better with irrationals.
,
I can handle any irrational and any rational from any quadra rubs me the wrong way (or i them).
Edit: God I see a lot of ESE's in those lists. Those people make me so extremely nervous with their completely fucking up my personal space and all good intentioned scary butting in my business....
(haha yes i found an excuse to bitch about ESE's)
ILE, SEI, ESI, IEI
Of the Alphas, ILE and then maybe SEI. SEE for Gammas and IDK about Delta yet. Probably IEE?
Unknown type, but I appreciate Gammas and Deltas. The most difficult for me to have decent/lasting relations with are Beta Extroverts.
I would probably say LII and ILE although I haven't had that much exposure to them. Whenever I hear of or meet them they seem very likeable
Favourite non-Gammas:
ENFp :hyper:
ISTj
INFp :squeeze:
ISTp :content: :content:
ENTp here. I love INFps.
probably EII and IEI. maybe i already answered this thread and said something different but i'm too lazy to look.
None
SEI for sure!!
In small doses, and non-work related and in no particular order:
other Holographic Thinkers (ESI, SLE, LII)
IP temperaments (IEI, ILI) (I don't have the drive/energy of the J types, and find EPs to be too energy stimulating for comfort.)
semiduality, mirage
women: conflictor
IEE (semidual)
Female quasi-identicals are pretty hot.
SEI for sure. Love-love-love.
Other than that, I don't really know. I met one amazing SEE but I wouldn't say all SEEs are like that simply because I don't have a lot of experience with them.
SLE and IEE
ILE and ILI
All 4 STs.
ILE, LII, ESI, EII... most of my friends tend to be these types, some IEEs too but there are definitely some IEEs I don't get along with, different ways of life I think
I have known some LSI's and they are bit bizarre in some ways but I have been around them.. some of them are totally scared of non conventional thinking.. I keep it to myself (the most scariest ones).
From the opposite I'm usually fine with SEE's. Deep down we are kind of twisted in similar fashion and have bit similar energy towards new challenges and so on. Their mirror type is usually totally different in my eyes. ILI's seem to be at least OK.
EII's... are OK as long as they do not press me into smellpathy practices.
When it comes to SLI it really depends. They really seem to appreciate some sort of of advices when it comes to relations between people and I'm not the one to give it.
...
I have hard time when it comes to social lice picking. I'm best at doing things my own way and solving problems.
IEI, ILI, SEE, LSE, EII
I already answered this but I'll do it again.
Some beta nfs are some of my favorite people
Iees I like pretty uniformly
Sles I like a lot superficially if there's nothing sexual
I think what I like about iees & sles is perceived openness in the personality. Beta nfs I dunno, isn't being appealing their schtick?
Beta Quadra (the drama and savagery), Delta NFs (the whimsy and innocence); SLEs, IEEs and ILEs, I often find to be particularly hilarious, which I like.
SEI, ILE, and ESI for most favorite. LSI, SLE, LII, and ILI as well but wouldn't call them favorites since feelings with them aren't as mutual as with former three which makes them less enjoyable for me.
LIIs can have interesting theories
I haven't had the time to type a lot of people in my own environment, but there are a few that I have clicked quite well with despite quadra differences:
ILI-Ni (contrary) – I think we actually went through the whole 'moth to the flame' process that socionics tends to describe for this relationship. The difference is that we actually managed to emerge from the other side and gain huge understanding of each other, respect for our differences, and, most importantly, we realised that there are actually a lot of similarities between us as well hidden in the deeper layers. It helps that my fairly strong third Se gives us a strong semi-dual vibe.
LIE-Ni (quasiidentical) – we didn't get close, but in a professional environment we clicked very well and managed to work two and a half years together on a very successful software project as co-leads. There was immense respect to each other's opinions, and discussions about problems at hand were always very fruitful to both sides as we could provide each other with fresh and interesting perspectives of the same issue. Prolonged exposure to one another would lead to certain friction, but keeping apart for a little while would soon fix it.
SLI-Si (semidual) – one of the best friends I have ever had. Very direct and very pragmatic person, but also immensely caring about everyone's well-being.
I guess the lesson here is that subtypes are actually quite important. For example, there is an ILI-Te at work that I simply can't stand and every second spent listening to what his opinion about something is feels like coarse sandpaper applied to my brain.
ENFjs, INTps, ISTjs, and sometimes even ESFps...
EDIT: I do not like: ESTps (ESTPs I sometimes like) and certain specific people from the Gamma quadra IRL (e.g., 'Judge Judy', Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, etc.)... Most of the gammas here I do not mind...
