Most people are artists here actually lol.
seeing through society's veil = artist
questioning social norms = artist
search for unique identity = artist
doing your own thing in pure independence to everybody else = artist
emotionally insecure and neurotic about your own issues = artist
selfish narcissism (weak end) balanced with strong empathy for humanity (strong end) = artist
ranting about peculiar things that amount to nothing but are extremely interesting nonetheless = artist

Well, I may as well post the same art I put on every forum's "post your art" threads:

Wow Pinkcanary. These are so cool.
Allie, do you sell your stuff? Just curious cuz I'd totally buy it. Canary your is stuff is good too. Heck, everyone here seems to be talented. I wish I had an ounce of patience as I'm a pretty good drawer myself but eh..just not into it anymore.
Yay, I'm glad you started this thread, pinkcanary. :) I love seeing other people's art.
I'm currently taking a figure drawing class, so I might scan in a couple of drawings from that at some point, but for the moment here's an older one.

And now for something completely different:

My 2009 pumpkin: Christine from Phantom of the Opera.
I just realized that's a pumpkin. Wow! I can't believe you have the patience to carve them like that. That looks so amazing lit up.
Thanks :) I have excellent reproductive/adaptive skills for transferring images like that, but I suck at creating new images of my own. I've always appreciated that skill in others, which makes me super impressed by the artwork in here.
made this yesterday with my chemically induced superpowers ;)
it's white printer paper, string, some tape, and screws... was planning on adding in see thru string and sticks to make it into a marionette :)
Painted/drew this last night using Photoshop and an old Wacom tablet:

Very nice, Minde.
I think I'd want to use a lot of black/grey/white shading in some of my art. It's appealing. someone suggested I use charcoal ? or something like that once, I think.
I drew this in high school after a field trip:
http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/3...stianseals.jpg
...Surprisingly I also made a few clothing designs, not really the "material," but the artwork on the material for the hell of it one time.
@ Timeless - I like your drawing. Did you ever get any of your clothing designs printed?
I'm working on another portrait:
http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/o...tepsmall3b.jpg
It's not done yet. I have a certain vision for it, but we'll see where it goes...
These are all very beautiful, there's lots of talent on this forum. I'm working on something at the moment, but it's a bit hush hush so I'll wait for now :)
im right now working on this
http://i44.tinypic.com/e5gwnm.jpg
Well, yeah. Here's a simple design that was made out:
http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/7159/sex1q.jpg
It's the word sex written in 14 languages. ;)
Most of the ones I have are complex designs and they're unprinted.
P.S. Did you do yours in Photoshop/Illustrator, pencil, or something else? It's hard to tell.
Here's what I'm currently working on - This will be shaded with pastel when I get the time.

Final result will be like this one, which I'm not sure if I've posted before or not (cbf checking :P)

^ Good playing! Your profile looks somewhat like Marlon Brando's methinks.
It's been awhile since I shared any of my pictures. Here are a few of my favorites from the last few months. If I'm repeating myself at all, sorry. I can't remember what I've posted and what I haven't.
If I linked them right, you should be able to click on them and see a bigger version.

Ok, that's all I'll inundate you with for now. :p If you want to see some more pictures that I didn't put here, you can visit this photobucket album.
Minde, you're so awesome for posting these.
I especially like the b&w portraits and the nature close-ups. The jazz/swing guys look nice, too. ;)
Aww, thanks! You're awesome for liking them. :) There are so many amazing things to look at in the world and I love finding ways to capture them, and it makes me happy when people enjoy my results.
Those musicians were pretty cool. I was running out of light (it was dusk) and my companions wanted to keep going (it was at the beginning of a whole long art walk), otherwise I'd have stayed and got more shots. A little ways further we went past this guy.
http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/...oaday-0163.jpg
This shot was tough because I had way less light than it looks (after sunset) and he kept moving around.
...haha, I was about to say, "I wish there was a way to capture sound with pictures", but then I realized that's what video cameras do... Though it isn't the same as what I was thinking. Anyway, he played well and he's another that I wish I could have spent more time watching/listening to.
She's ENFp, too.
Praying mantises are funny. They just sit there. Looking back at you. With their big blank eyes. o.O
:D
And there you have the reason why I didn't stick to my original plan. Worn out filthy clothes? No thanks. :( (and i'm saying this metaphorically of course)
I like the way it came out. Has a old vintagy feel to it.Quote:

Which begs the question... do you record video ?Quote:

You could, sometime, maybe take someone to go along with you and take videos as you're taking pics. So you'll have both pics and video of the same event/experience. Or you could do both by yourself.
Yay! :)Quote:

Wait... the girl or the puppy?
yay you posted new pics! My favorite is the girl with the white sweater and the ice blue eyes, but they're all lovely :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Not to rival Vero's supremely awesomely majestic Phantom pumpkin that puts us ammeter carvers to shame, I carved the Black Pearl this year
http://i56.tinypic.com/2ni6vx3.jpg
They are beautiful pics Minde. Thank you for sharing.
@Marie, very creative. Nice pic too, thank you for posting it.
My brother has a DSLR that records video, and occasionally I'll borrow it. I've been thinking about getting my own video recorder, but so far I can't justify the expense.
The girl. :) Well, maybe the puppy, too. It's sweet enough.
Thanks! That girl was so photogenic - it's one of my favorites, too.
Wow! I love it!
You're welcome, I'm glad you like them. :)
So the past days... weeks... months... forever, it seems, I've been working almost non-stop. Today I took a break to just play with my new Christmas toy, a pretty Intuos4. It felt so good to not worry about timers or broken code or client expectations, and to instead just focus on shapes and shades and pretty stuff.
Here is a WIP from today:
http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/...rbled1-300.jpg
Looks almost like me.
Filled it out a little, added some color, but I'm still figuring out her hair...
http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/...bled1-300b.jpg
Nice Minde, you have some real talent as a photographer!
Thanks!
I haven't done hair much before this, and I pretty much made it up without a photo reference here, so it was kind of hard, and now I'm tired of working on this picture, haha. So, here's the current version, where I added hair, some refinements of the face, and color/background tweaks.
http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/...bled1-300c.jpg
I'm not especially satisfied - it doesn't have the... original feel... that I had in mind for it. And the hair is a little wonky, and the skin a little plastic-y, and the shirt could use texturing. But like I said I'm getting a little sick of it, so maybe I'll revisit it in the future, or maybe I'll just do a whole 'nother one. I like painting like this, though. :content: Just wish I had more time for it.
And, yes, this was all done by hand in Photoshop. I used this picture as a reference for the face, but no part of that photo is in what I did.
What if I wanna post my pornography?
Nice stuff minde!
Here are some discontinued k271s I recently unpackaged. So far the best closed headphone I've heard.
http://i566.photobucket.com/albums/s...lemon/k271.png
Poli what are the specs on those headphones, if you have them available?
I'm no artist (AT ALL), but to lose the plastic-y-ness (or however you put it), maybe you could try "messing it up" a bit.Quote:

What is involved in Facebook Graffiti? Is it a digital painting?
I had a week of non-work wherein I took some fun pictures.

It is that time of the day when I sit down to relax, open up the 16types and see that Minde has posted new pics. Thank you once again, Minde. Especially for that crusty yummy-looking pizza. Is that what you had in downtown Chicago?
Yep, Giordano's.
The last half of those pics is from a Geek -> Chic "fashion" show. I don't think they quite made it to chic, but they sure got the geek part down. I don't party much, but I have to admit it was fun.
You can see more from my trip here. The first night I had to spend in a side room in a hideaway bed, but the hotel then made up for it by putting me on a special floor with "club" privileges, including free food, so that was fun. And on the last day I got to see a da Vinci. *melts* I so need to take a tour of Europe...
Oh hey, you've uploaded pics of your room... haha.
Well, I'd personally choose the room over (attending) that gay event.
Leonardo da Vinci can make me feel gooey inside, it's true.
I got to visit the Art Institute, but only for a half hour. It was sheer torture as an art nerd. I could have spend hours there. I almost broke down crying as I walked back to catch my flight. :(
There is just so much amazing stuff to see and do in this world! I wish I had more time and money.
:o :( Well, as much as I'm a homebody, in this case I probably would have gone without you. A big part of why I went was to connect with the people attending, because I can get a lot of professional benefits from it. Plus, I kind of like making positive connections with people anyway. And I'm curious about how different people have fun.
The dancing made me feel awkward, though. I didn't know what to do with myself. As silly as it sounds, it would have been easier if someone showed me what to do, gently. So that part wasn't as fun. Luckily I had my camera as an excuse to do my own thing. (And afterward people really liked my pictures, which made me feel warm and fuzzy.)
That said, if I hadn't gone I wouldn't have met some nice people or caught up with other nice people that I knew before. So it was all worth it. :)
I love your photos, Minde! Do you exhibit them at all?
Assuming I was there with you, I wouldn't have let you go by yourself anyways (:p), as that would be impolite and against my Fi standards. What I said was under the assumption that I was alone. And I wasn't implying that I wouldn't go at all, just that I wouldn't wanna be a part of that kinda charade and probably wouldn't be able to enjoy it for very long as an observer either. So um, having me at such a place would be like having a talking stone who might eventually start asking "How long are we gonna stay here?" repeatedly every ten minutes.
Wow, you called people "nice" twice in one sentence. You seem to have a rather high opinion of those ******s.
Because it's what Charlie Sheen would do, in his eyes.
I still don't know why Parkster was calling people he doesn't know names.
Spring is officially here. And I will probably (hopefully) find myself with camera in hand more often now that nature's color palette is moving toward more saturation and variety.
But I don't really want to wait to accumulate more pictures before sharing a few I got this weekend (click to see larger):

Betcha none of you knows who this is...
We'll see how far I can get on this this weekend.
Adam Lambert?
Heh, no. Close on the facial features, yes, but... a different style, let's say, lol.
Lots of nice stuff in here.

Disturbing, but good job. Illustrator?
Nope.
No, I didn't really know.
Clear communication, my friend, will prevent many a misunderstanding, which will in turn help preserve mutual attachment and congeniality. Unlike you toward most people (apparently), I will usually assume your intentions are good and give you the benefit of the doubt. But it really does help when you can be clear at the start what you're intending. Even if that means losing some of the effects of the joke or having to dumb things down.
Anyway, by default, don't call people names if you want them to like you. And, yes, Mr. Grumpy-Pants-ISTp, you want people to like you; it makes life easier.
I was joking. (because of the very slight resemblance to Ryu's facial features.)
I was referring to both your acquaintances and people in general. So it doesn't really matter. Take is as you want.
What is not clear to you?
Well unlike you, I don't see the world through pink glasses. People are different.
:indifferent:
I only want people I like to like me, and even that is not always necessary. But thanks for asking.

Hey Minde.
I think I've asked this before, but what kind of camera and lens are you using?
I have a Canon 40D, and for most of those I used the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens. I also have the kit Canon 28-135mm IS lens.
Looks like John Fogerty or Steve Martin
