You don't understand how excruciating day-to-day practical conversation is for an IEI. Honestly. If I had to choose between going to the dentist or giving you an hour by hour verbal report of one day in my life I would choose to go to the dentist... I haven't been to the dentist in over three years and I don't intend to go until I have root canale or some other problem so this is saying A LOT. Really I'm surprised I haven't had any noticeable pains in my mouth as I brush my teeth MAX once a day (my ILE friend has Si-panic attacks when I brag about my dental hygiene while flashing my whiter than average nicotine coated teeth :o . After 3 days the teeth seem to form a natural protective coating that you can feel with your tongue, really, it's disgusting in a hilarious way, lol)
I find that it's the lack of practical detail-orientated "what did you do today?" conversation that makes IEIs seems mysterious. It must be understood that IEIs don't really find other people, even other IEIs, mysterious, also IEIs don't feel like they "know" other people by knowing little details about the other person. We need to spend time and do things with people in order to know who they are. Likewise the only way someone will get to know me is by doing things with me and seeing how I react in different situations. If I only ever end up doing insignificant things i.e. day-to-day activities available to bored people, with someone then unfortunately they will only know insignificant things about me unless there's some kind of external crisis beyond our control.
This is how I see it, most people don't know the people they think they know. All they know is useless trivia (a personal history, which is quite frankly second-hand and thus heresay). Thus when shit hits the fan these people end up losing "friends" that they think they "know" and are surprised. Well if you don't know whether a friend will be there when you need them then no matter how much you think you know about them you don't know them.
Also for some reason bad things happen to IEIs when they go out of their way to seem "normal" to others, I don't know why, but really, as you can tell we learn to stop trying quickly lol.
Finally, if you try to contrive an IEI into normal conversation they will seem even more mysterious. This is on purpose and it's because we can tell you're indirectly fishing around and over the years we've come to resent such. Really people do this to me ALL THE TIME. I don't see myself as mysterious. Actually a fishing analogy works. Say I'm a fish, but a fish with a big enough brain to know basic things, and I'm swimming around my little circle of the lake. Then some human on a boat comes along with a boat to go fishing. The bait comes flying into the water and the human waits, expecting me to take the bait. "Well fuck that shit" I say, "I can swim around all day and it takes less energy then opening my mouth to eat that cheap ass second rate worm, hell I can dig up third rate worms with less energy and weak Si means I can't taste the difference :D". The human is intrigued as to why the fish won't just bite the fucking bait. Eventually he/she gets fed up and leave and I'm still swimming around. The human in this scenario would assume that the fish is quite mysterious and intriguing, but really, for the fish it's not really mysterious or intriguing.
I find that strange. Because I can kind of give an hour by hour verbal report, or I can kind of just skip it.
When I was young, and people used to ask me what I'd been up to, I often used to say that I'd been "killing small children", or "trying to determine the best way to kill you", sometimes I actually made people kind of edgy/agitated, by talking about "ways to kill them".
I used to talk about blood, killing, death, the need for war. The rise of the right. The destruction of some for the benefit of others. The stronger brighter future, death and destruction, hate and war .. and so on ..
People used to try to "snap" me out of it, by kind of being "sharp", and "incisive", and they'd also say things like "he gets like this sometimes".
I also used to find that sometimes other people would offer tidbits about me. And then they'd say I was an enigma. That I was beyond reasoning. That I was an old soul.
Anyway, all this talk used to wind some people up a lot. Like "Who the hell am I?" "What do I do?" "Why does everyone know who I am, and yet no-one seems to know anything about me?" "Why does everyone react to me?"
But yeah, like you I don't really have a story. It's more like "I'm here", "You're there".
I agree. It's good to spend time with people. I remember this exact situation - with people wanting to know who I am - what my name is - what I'm into - it's like they're seeking, they have so many questions.Quote:

My old solution was to just walk away. It's like there was this kind of rhythm, and openness about what I was like - but some people would get confused right from the start.
It's like I'd walk away, and I'd notice them say to someone else - he just walked away - I tried to ask - (and then the other person would be like) Don't ask him questions - and the first person would be confused - like "it's normal to ask questions"
Or like they'd ask me who I was, and I'd say "I'm your own worst enemy," and they'd be like "i don't have any enemies" and then I'd be like "now you have one", and they'd be like "what the fuck, what did I do?", and I'd be like "you need an enemy",.
It's like there'd be a dialogue. But other people would often get quite reactive, especially at first. It's like they'd expect that they could just question who I was, right from the get go and I'd answer. But instead I'd just walk away. And that actually seems to upset some people, like they'll suddenly decide that you don't like them. Then once they decide you don't like them, they'll want to know why you don't like them. When you don't give them an answer, they'll go stir crazy for a while ..
What would you rather do?Quote:

exactly stories are in books and on TV. Everywhere. Everyone has a story nowadays and apparently it needs to be repeated to every person they meet. When something happens to me I usually tell it to one person. The person I tell it to is the first friend I end up seeing afterwards. After I express it once I never feel the urge to express it again. I don't feel "freed" by telling people everything, on the contrary if someone knows everything about me it's more like a shackle, like i'm on a reality tv show and fucked up voyeurs have every room on camera for their viewing pleasure. Fuck that, I'll al-quaeda that shit like the --------- (really I ought not to make jokes about this in case new yorkers are here lol)
Also sometimes people need to shut up for their own good. Really, it's not their god-given right to have an opinion on everything, especially if they've already admitted they're an avid athiest. This is all new, all this everyone should know me youtube bullshit stuff, if it's important to me you should listen blah blah blah. It's because people live easy boring lives and watch too much tv. Thus their lives become melodramatic cliches, like the characters on tv shows they watch. If I ever end up like that please kill me, please, for the sake of evolution.
yah it's because everything is immediately available to them. Food, shelter, entertainment. Why not you then (they ask)? What makes you more important than everyone else? Hell they could probably find out how long it takes the president to take a piss and you're not the president so they're entitled to know whatever they want to know. Personally I find this ridiculous, if I want to know about someone, and I question them, and the person I'm questioning is a serial killer, for example, they're obviously not going to tell me that they're a serial killer. Indeed everything people do say about themselves tends to be very subjective and one sided. They're always right, the problem in all their relationships was the other person (of course), they never start the argument etc.Quote:

it doesn't matter what I want to do. If I'm controlling the situation than I'm not acting spontaneously(naturally). Most interaction in western countries is inherently insignificant because it's contrived and common. When you do this you say this. Do that? say that? Please, thank-you, hello, goodbye etc. This is basically the basis of the majority of marriages and the majority of marriages either end badly or worse, in the case of two masochists, don't end at all. Dress codes, area codes, shopping malls, slang, all temporary and only "important" because we live sheltered in a fabricated bubble of security from the majority of the world's population. One might assume so under the condition that a human is a superior predatory mammal and at the top of the food chain, thus has nothing to fear. Theoretically this false sense of security is important to re-inforce in order to to make sure no one finds out that a fish sunk the missing boat, after all it was a hurricane right? :p damn things come out of nowhere.Quote:
