Since studying MBTI and/or socionics, how many times have you changed your mind about what your type is?
If you want to count simply via how many types you have thought you were, already, feel free ... this poll is hardly scientific.

1.
You should include something like "I've considered alternatives, but only one has ever truly fit me."
yes, i know that technically this fits under "never"
but there are meaningful differences
Never MBTI, seriously for socionics, once. Even then I would say it is more a lack of understanding, rather than me actually wondering about my type.
It is misleading, because, it seems that type does not "change", but your application and strength of functions (within the ordering) does.
One.
In MBTI tests I most often test as INTJ and I identify with the INTJ profiles in typelogic and personalitypage.
Coming to socionics (and also misled briefly by the Oldham bits), I just assumed that I was INTj.
As I started to learn about the relationships and functions, I increasingly saw that INTj made no sense and that ENTj or INTp made much more sense. Also, even a very simple look at the most known dichotomies and groups - Narrator, Dynamic, Victim - about which I had no doubt, pointed to ENTj or INTp.
Looking at my relationships (especially with ESFj and ISFp) and PoLR (Si made much more sense than Fe, although it was tricky), I decided on ENTj.
Since then, this typing has only been confirmed, however I look at it, as I have learned more.
I say "one" because I never really decided I was INTp; it was INTj ---> ENTj or INTp? ---> ENTj.
Some have suggested ESTj. Has someone suggested ISFj? Anyway, I disagree.
all the time. I don't like thinking about my own type very much, and it is not something I am good at analyzing despite knowledge of socionics/others.
I see what you're saying, but maybe (sooner or later) what you've described is an implicit norm for those who'd select "never."Quote:

never changed my type, i was always puzzled why others do have a difficulty finding their type. But I'm getting used to it.
A couple of times. If I read into it, i can identify with every type but ISTP is the closest match.
When in doubt, the best confirmation is probably to look at your relationships.
What happened to the main site 16types.info? It had the best descriptions i think i've found as of yet and the relations with other types...
I've never *truly* settled on a type. I've been pretty sure that I was ENTp, ISFp, ESFp, and ENTj though. (ENTp and ISFp before I understood anything about information elements, ESFp before I understood temperaments.) INTp has been a possibility for a while, too, but I've never been "pretty sure" that I was INTp for any amount of time.

But never changed my Socionics type.
Never. I went easily from INFJ to INFj and have remained here. To my knowledge, no one's seriously questioned my type, either.
I'm questioning it right now..
I've considered (somewhat in order from what I can remember) -- INFj (the first), ENFp, INFp (for a very long time), ENFj (just recently, ESFp (still considering that, strangely enough) and again I am thinking of ENFp.
:? Didn't you find Delta generally boring and you generally like the Beta style?Quote:

I think that this might be a general difficulty for people coming to socionics from MBTI as MBTI seems to generally exaggerate extroversion in extroverted types, whereas in socionics many extroverted intuitives actually have smaller, more intimate social groups. I find that Lytov's correlation of socionics with Eysencks (sp?) introversion/extroversion has been useful in this regard. I'm not sure about how introversion and extroversion are perceived in europe but in North America Eysenck's definitions seem to hold most sway: IN types are "introverted", EN and IS types are in between and ES types are "extroverted"
I started out with MBTI as INTP. I felt pretty confident of this cuz I would post and debate things on the INTP message board and have fun whereas i found the INFP message board to be too polite for my tastes - I'm quite sarcastic and prone to be a bit nihilistic at times (Ni's frustration I suppose). Also my good friend was INTP in MBTI and I noticed we had tons of similarities. Slowly though, upon coming to socionics I was confused and didn't know what to think. So for a few months I avoided mbti and socioncs and got into the enneagram. After exhausting all enneagram sources (while procrastinating more important things) I realized that type 4 didn't seem to correlate with socionics INTps. At first I tried to avoid this fact, thinking "maybe I'm just a special rare INTp 4 (lol only a 4 would use this justification)". I think that I didn't want to associate myself with MBTI INFPs (which in hindsight makes sense as in socionics many of them translate into ENFps, INFjs and ENFjs, and the most vocal, noticeable ones in MBTI forums would be extroverts lol). Anyways after a couple months of denial my INTp friend informed me he thought I might be INFp and that unleashed the floodgates so to speak. I read everything I could find, provided my friends with this information and we re-typed everyone. It turned out that I was INFp 4w5 and my friend was INTp 5w4, lol.
Anyways socionics made MBTI seem obsolete - you know when you're driving in the middle of nowhere in a car and you pass some Amish dudes in horse-drawn carriage? Do you ever feel an overwhelming sense of pity? Like wow we used to be like that, it must have sucked balls! Anyway yah the MBTI community became the Amish dudes and I was the Amish dude that found a car and was like "peace out bitches!"
LOL Gilgil, you considered yourself ESE once? Hahahahaha
Yeah, Expat.. it's an unlikely option but EP temperament fits me so well, and being an Ennea 7.. it's just weird
For God only knows what reason, yes :P
And why didn't you say hi to me in your video? I was totally offended :(
I went through a few type-swings. At the suggestion of other people, I seriously considered EII for a while. A few other possibilities mentioned: ESI, LII, SEI and EIE.
 ESI?
lol, yeah. I think it was CuriousSoul who suggested that one.
Figures...
It's because we're all waiting for you to say SEE! :P
I was an ENTP in MBTI. Then a socionics ENTj. I switched to ESTp after awhile, and now I'm reconsidering ENTj.
You shouldn't be.
You should have seen with my eyes what I've seen.Quote:
