"When the situation reverses, that is called "reversed supervision", and it really is not a good thing. This mostly happens when the supervisee overreacts to the supervising done by the supervisor, or when the supervisee doesn't accept the supervisor because they see them as a "bad" supervisor." If the supervisee is above the supervisor though, then why would they need to overreact to the supervisor in the first place? If the supervisee was above the supervisor, the supervisor would naturally be more careful wouldn't they? They also wouldn't register the supervisor as a supervisor.
I think in this situation it's better if people see each other as equals somehow in the long run anyway.

Supervision depends a lot on the individuals. Again better suited for friendship in my opinion. And it depends on the types of the pair. I've had much better relationships with LIIs than I have with ESIs, maybe because Fi is all about emotional distance/connections and that's important in relationships, and that can get uncomfortable with an Fi lead supervising an Fi polr. I would imagine it would work better if the supervisee were a healthy confident person or otherwise in a position of authority over the supervisor, so that the supervisee doesn't feel insecure. I would also imagine these relationships are better when the pair doesn't have an ethical polr supervisee. Your take?

Hey mclane. I think it can be positive, as long as the person who has the leading IE of the other's HA function keeps strong boundaries. It helps obviously if both people are genuinely making an effort to understand each other more. I'm more skeptical of it for romance than for friendships. What about you?
