Hi, you asked how I got into socionics as an SEI. I had been in academic studies for too long and almost lost my sense of my own self. Finding out that I was "ISFP" was a relief. I was in great need of some feedback on who I am. Then with socionics I just basically watched a lot of videos of types and took in the impressions. I didn't care so much about the facts of the system. But i could very fast see that the ITR matched my own inner experiences of comfort /discomfort with people. Especially supervision from LSE was something that I had experienced many times before. Not so much as an outer behaviour, but as inner discomfort and instability. Then by mere chance I happened to date some ILE women and I understood what duality is. The ITRs were always quite clear to me as experienced from the inside. I think a SEI should just try to memorize the types and the ITR and have your friend watch lots and lots of videos. Then with time he can add his own experience of how people "feel". But I myself made lots of mistakes on the journey so it has been a bumpy road. And it was more or less necessary for me to gain more self knowledge, but not everyone will have that need.
