Dostoevsky would also probably find significance in the video, since he wasn't a fan of the artificial nature of industrial living.
I love Massive Attack. Haven't heard of Goldfrapp or Enigma, though. What songs of theirs are your favorites? I think the video reflects an enneagram 5 kind of outlook in that it's detached and observant. The main character is detached from the processes of the world, just observing. And I think this brings out contrast between the character and the chaos surrounding the character. Generally, the themes seem to highlight Rousseau's theory about the "social contract", and the "noble savage." Living in modern society means that we have to sacrifice some freedom in order to coexist within a kingdom or state. The video goes into the darker side of living in modern society, suggesting that we have to pay the price of decay, sacrificing the freedom to grow independently. You saw the garbage at the beginning and the single, isolated plant slowly but surely developing on the wall. The most interesting moment was when the TV said "monsters exist." This could suggest that malicious individuals lie at the heart of all of this decay - but probably that human beings in general lie at the heart of the decay. And I think, if that's the case, the video has a point. Human beings plunder the earth every day, and since the dawn of the industrial age, modern living has emphasized efficiency and greed at the expense of living within our means. Maybe, like what the main character does, our culture would benefit from taking it slow and observing our surroundings. Maybe it means jack shit and it's just made my pretentious people, lol. But I think the way the character exited the scene has an emotional appeal, so it probably has a message. What do you think it means?
No problem, take your time. Thank you for sharing Not quite the kind of electronic I usually enjoy, but the video seemed to have interesting symbolism. What do you think it means, if anything? Nine inch Nails? Normally they're a bit too depressing/dark for me, but I like one of their songs (the beat is good). Are they a favorite of yours? Some of my favorite electronic artists are Goldfrapp, Enigma, Massive Attack, and Bjork.
Electronic? You might like this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5_G8exuIRc Do you like NIN? I'll respond to your messages fully later tonight.
I like to tie macrame bracelets a lot lately. I enjoy sewing, painting, drawing, sculpting, and origami too...there's a few pictures of things I've made below. I like relaxing music and energizing music, especially when they're both at once Electronic tends to be my favorite. Thanks for the song, that's really pretty!! It puts you in a clear mindset. What kind of music do you enjoy? Honestly, no I don't do a lot of maintenance...that's something I could work on more. I tend to let things clutter also, and that's not likely to change any day soon xD Oh yes, I saw Tallmo's reply on your thread! I see what you mean about Si giving a more tangible perspective on Ne inspiration. I love things that don't have obvious purposes, that are just there for enjoyment or curiosity's purposes >.>
Hi A Moderator, sorry I haven't been responding lately D: I've been working on a new business, and kinda getting overwhelmed - I'm using my PoLR oh the horror Also I think it's not good for me to spend much time on this site, so I've been cutting back lately. But I wanted to get back to your message Ahhh praying mantises are interesting! Beautiful yet deadly, yes. They'd be so intimidating if we were bug-sized. If you're interested by crawling critters, I've been getting into these videos lately. This guy keeps over 60 tarantulas They're kind of beautiful, after you look at them long enough to get over the creepy factor. It's curing my arachnophobia, lol Ohh okay, well the body worker in Sedona gently massaged my feet, ankles, neck, and head. She just applied slight pressure. Meanwhile she did some kind of meditation to move the energy. She looked very focused. It made me feel heat/tingles moving through the muscles up and down my neck and legs. Yes I have meditated! I'm not very good at it, but sometimes it's helped me. Have you tried it? Oh you have done a lot of traveling! I wish I had, but the most traveling I've done is some camping in Wyoming, Sedona, and California beaches. Did you have any favorite destinations to visit? Lol, well 'SEIs like me' meaning I'm not sure if everything I like is typical of SEI, but, at least some of it is... Yes, that is how I thought of the Ti description when it was compared to constellations Your puzzle piece analogy makes sense to me too, actually that's how I first thought of it...I used to think I was a Ti-user, back in the MBTI days. haha. That's interesting that you think Fe is energizing and motivating, too!! So, what kind of communication do you enjoy from Fe users? I'm curious to hear how it is from a logical person (which, it seems like you are). *Reading your paragraph about * - *starts grinning* lol I love strong Well I hope you get the kind of work you're aiming for with your major! My mind is blown thinking about trying to work with computer systems that way. "I also like to think about how best to persuade people and how to win at card games. I tend to explore possible "meanings" a lot, like what a movie means, a book means, etc." Yes I enjoy talking about these things a lot, too
I do like praying mantises particularly. I did a couple of reports on them in school. I find them fascinating; they are beautiful yet deadly. I'm not convinced that psychic powers are real, but I'm curious what the process was like when she was "balancing out the left and right hemispheres." But surely you were clear-headed and energized for a reason. Have you ever tried meditation? @your name - np. I've done a decent amount of traveling. I've been to California, New Mexico, Texas, Mississippi, New York, Tennessee, Arkansas, New Jersey, Virginia, and very briefly I was in Mexico, lol. Have you done a lot of traveling? *laughs*, SEIs like you? Well, hopefully I provide some help. Whether it resonates with me or not depends on how we define constellations. It does make sense if we define them as structured bits of information that add up to a greater picture, or vast expanse. I think of Ti as like puzzle pieces in a jigsaw puzzle that need to be arranged in a way that makes sense according to the whole puzzle. Does that make sense to you? And yes, Fe is very energizing and motivating. That's one of my favorite things about it - Fe ego types tend to very naturally know how to push people in the right direction. What kinds of possibilities do I explore? Idk. I explore implications of ideological frameworks and philosophical frameworks. I like exploring the implications of various systems. I'm majoring in information technology, with an emphasis on security, so I think about possible ways to defeat computer systems or create solutions to security problems. I also like to think about how best to persuade people and how to win at card games. I tend to explore possible "meanings" a lot, like what a movie means, a book means, etc. What kinds of things do you make? Also, what kinds of music do you enjoy? Do you mostly listen to relaxing music? You might like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZH1V8ljoOs Do you do a lot of maintenance? (eg. cleaning) *laughs* I create a lot of things and situations that don't have obvious purposes. Also, I like how Si fleshes out Ne inspiration. For example, I recently made a thread about Jung's theory of religious impulse, and Tallmo (SEI) gave a great subjective impression of what I was talking about that made my OP seem much more tangible.
Oh okay, yes I understand Well, I see no reason to doubt your ILE typing so far, but it's impossible for me to really know with the limited info Yes, the scenery in Sedona is fantastic. I didn't get to do helicopter or jeep rides, but they sound fun! The Tlaquepaque looks beautiful. Praying mantis! Do you like those particularly? They are eerie/intimidating for such small creatures. There are some martial arts styles based off of the movements of mantises. My favorite part was getting energy work done, which made me feel so much better. This woman worked on balancing the left and right hemispheres of our brains and gently massaging our bodies, and it really left me feeling clear-headed and energized. Ohh those look very pretty, thanks for the recommendations I don't get many chances to travel, but I'll keep those in mind for possible destinations. Have you done a lot of traveling? @my name - Awww, thank you ^^ Re: Ti revelations - "Knowing the reasons for your emotions gives you a way to explain them and justify yourself." -Yes, this is exactly what I look for, thank you!! If you're pretty good at figuring out why people feel the way they do, then you'd be very good for SEI (at least SEIs like me, if I'm a good example of one ). Yes, I think you might be right about Ti. Some users describe Ti as being like a bunch of constellations - small pin points of light (data points) in a vast expanse, finding the connections between the dots. I think of Ti as stabilizing - it provides a reassuring structure in the psyche - while Fe is energizing/motivating, but too chaotic on it's own. What do you think about Ti/Fe? Does any of this resonate with you? Ohh the way you describe Ne makes sense. What kind of things really interest you in an Ne way? Like, what possibilities do you like to explore? You maintain your body and mind by working out every day, but usually pay little attention to issues surrounding comfort...well that's impressive that you do 120 push ups daily, that takes some dedication. Si ~ I'm very sensitive to the aesthetics in the environment and how they impact my inner state. Whatever I see/touch/taste has a strong impact on my feelings. So I really like beautiful things, and I like making beautiful things. I love eating...I guess this is typical of SEIs, from what I've read. I love music too. People tell me I have a very relaxing presence, they slow down after spending a while with me. Ne is inspiring, makes me feel alive and free. I like things that are 'weird', that don't immediately make sense or have an obvious purpose. I use my intuition to come up with aesthetic designs, although it's draining. But I think this is one example of how Ne and Si work together - Ne gets the overall picture and Si fills in the details. I have an overall mood/impression I want my creation to make, the Ne keeps the overall impression in my mind, and Si can tell whether or not the details fit that impression.
To be clear, I'm not 100% certain of my typing, but I have a feeling that your typing is correct, so the goal here is to see if we easily communicate and make a conclusion. I really enjoyed the scenery. I've done helicopter rides and Jeep rides and I recommend them. I think they also have plane rides that take routes to and from the Grand Canyon. I also enjoyed going to the Tlaquepaque, a center for arts and culture. I still have an embalmed praying mantis specimen from the Tlaquepaque! What was your favorite part? I also recommend going up to Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon near Page. Xavier is a cool name. It sounds kind of badass and sophisticated. Re: Ti revelations - it's good to feel confident in yourself and your emotional preferences. Knowing the reasons for your emotions gives you a way to explain them and justify yourself. I'd say I'm pretty decent at figuring out why people feel the way they do; if your impression of Ti and calmness in the face of emotions is correct, maybe Ti gives a calm basis to analyze emotional expression. I think I experience Ne through seeing different possibilities. I perceive how, for example, a book could mean a variety of things in a number of different contexts. Or I could come up with some creative solutions to meet specific goals. I have flashes on inspiration that compel me to write things or bounce ideas off of others. Si is way less pronounced. I try to maintain my body and mind by working out some every day. I do 120 pushups daily. I do enjoy some level of comfort, but I pay little attention to issues surrounding comfort. How do you experience Si and Ne?
Ti revelations ~ It feels like a light bulb goes off in my head, lol. Umm...it does relate to my feeling. Usually what happens is there will be something I have strong feelings about, but I can't explain what causes them very easily. Then someone will come along with a logical explanation for why I feel that way, and suddenly it all makes sense and I feel more confident in my emotional preferences. This happened with Socionics, even! That's good to know, I've always been told that I'm 'an open book' emotionally, so...it's nice to know that Fe is appreciated by others!! Oh wow, telling a Peruvian to "go back to Mexico" - that's pretty uncool >.< Well congrats to you for smoothing things over!! Goes to show that NTs can be good at diplomacy, too, not just the SFs. "Xaiviay" is the female version of "Xavier". It's my middle name and I'm quite happy with it, haha Oh yes Sedona! Yes I did enjoy it, though it was a pretty overwhelming experience in some ways. I liked the healthy food, the rocks and hiking trails, and the friendly New-Agey people. We met quite a few 'psychics' (if you believe in that sort of thing) and energy workers, who were actually really helpful. You've been there several times, also? What do you like going there for? Also, I wonder how do you experience Ne and Si? Also Ni, if you can explain your ignoring function?
