  1. I appreciate that. He only uses the forums once or twice a month, as his occupation is highly demanding. I'm the one typically badgering him to come here lol. Regardless, what's important here is a show of character, so I respect that You extended that.
  2. lol Christ I'm passive aggressive. I just handed out an apology to your friend as well, fwiw.
  3. "IEI tends to hypothesize, test, observe, explain, hypothesize, test, observe, explain, and so on into infinity when they're interested in something" lmao You've never heard me on skype. I do that all the time when I ramble, if I'm comfortable with the person knowing they don't mind lol. Some acquaintances I just teach typology to so it's all pedagogical and more one-sided, but when I'm just being myself typology is the matrix through which alot of that comes into play for me. Typing others, particularly people I'm not personally acquainted with yet, or looking into shit like conspiracy theories or whatever, allows me to work with uncertain data and hypothesis, but my Te Vuln always kicks in and I don't feel confident with the incompleteness of that data, so I just go in circles until either I find conclusive evidence or someone more confident in their conclusions adds to my considerations, then I work their theory in and on and on it goes hahah. My mind is a vortex of associations and impressions constantly cohering.

"It's useful for IEI because when IEI and SLE interact, IEI chugs through the experimental process I mentioned earlier and SLE sees all the results, picks out the relevant bits, and the process continues, averting both an overload of information and a deficiency in information" lol this is basically the average interaction between me and my Bro whenever I start a "So, I was thinking..." ramble. He parses out my output very well, and I always come back with more lol.
  4. I agree that it's a credit to Socionics that their theorists have come up with criteria and explanations where MBTI theorists have not. HP cognition is cool - sbbds has it in spades. You notice the way she debates? She sees the whole picture, so she can parse out what's "behind the scenes", whether it's the subtext of an argument or the intentions of the person making the argument. It's useful for IEI because when IEI and SLE interact, IEI chugs through the experimental process I mentioned earlier and SLE sees all the results, picks out the relevant bits, and the process continues, averting both an overload of information and a deficiency in information. I'm not completely shy of doing the HP thing, but mostly it's about developing causal explanations for how things work. It is nice that Socionics, as it stands, has criteria that allows users to get to the bottom of whether they're introverted or extraverted in a way that MBTI does not. Socionics has a lot of detailed material to make deductions from, which is useful because the Forer effect more greatly influences the typing process the more vague descriptions are.
  5. Ok, well you know you better than I do. IEI tends to hypothesize, test, observe, explain, hypothesize, test, observe, explain, and so on into infinity when they're interested in something. Intuition leads the whole process in that IEI perceives something that can be brought to light. With you, the emphasis on Fe and contraflow instinct probably explains differences in what I'm perceiving, then.

Yes, I agree that the forms of cognition are very interesting. I wish the typing "authorities" here gave them more credence.
  6. As an addendum, the Form I'm most interested in is Holographic, which coincidentally correlates with my dual, SLE. Panoramic cognition just sounds so fuckin awesome hahah. I think this is just the way it goes sometimes. An Extro that seems reserved is going to be insisted they're Intro, and an Intro that stands out too much will be told they're Extro. I think it's a credit to Socionics that it has several means of accounting for this that MBTI ostensibly lacks, or at least doesn't explicitly cover (eg, subtypes and DCNH). Enneagram/Instinct variant can also help clarify. I'm Counterphobic 6, Sx/So, Fe subtype, and D, so of course I stand out among Intros hahah. Conversely, I've known some Extros that for years were convinced they were Intros.
  7. Cheers. I'm familiar with Forms of Cognition. Vortical is me af. I've read them all before. I only added the bit on DCNH cause of what that mentor taught me. It's not entirely essential, but a decent ancillary add-on. The crux on my IEI typing for me was mainly the functional placements themselves, ie. PoLR, Suggestive, HA, Program, etc. All of IEIs placements are markedly more relatable, and some of the EIEs just aren't at all really (Se HA especially). I find the Forms of Cognition very interesting, personally.
  8. You mentioned you typed as IEI and I typed you as EIE. Tbh, between the IEI D typing and EIE, the difference is practically negligible because D signifies pronounced extraverted rational function. But this is my criteria for typing EIE: http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...nition-and-You

Gulenko's forms of cognition are based on Reinin as well. I use this criteria because I think the forms of cognition have a significant impact on ITR, so they dovetail with the aspects of Socionics we directly experience, which are as empirical as things get for the time being.

    Just FYI
  9. Hey. I'll be taking a break for a few months. I have too much bullshit to catch up with. Thanks for making me feel welcome; let's hope you're still here when I get back.
  10. Lol. Excellent video. The souls franchise is so Se/Ni valuing. Once beat Dark Souls 1 without leveling my character once. Would do again.
