Turn-on, or turn-off?
Turn-on, or turn-off?
Depends on the tatoo, depends on the girl. SERIOUS turn on when it's good; otherwise it's neutral to "meh."
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
sometimes on some guys.
Hi! I'm an ENFP. :-)
generally turn off, but it can be okay to mildly attractive if it is tasteful/ can be covered up when appropriate.

I like tattoos on some guys, as long as they're hide-able. I doubt I would write a guy off just because he had one I didn't like [unless it was that swasti-cock horror Gilly showed us recently ;p].
Also I'm straight, but I think there's something to a girl having a tattoo in a place where it isn't readily obvious. I myself have a small tattoo on my right hip, but most people don't know it's there....
Like this one

it's a passing fashion statement. i used to like those lower back ones that looked like celtic druid symbol things but then everybody said those were the sign of a ho. *shrugs* now what?? i have no tattoos but they're tough to get off and if somebody decides that you have one that brands you as a ho well aren't you shit outta luck.

those who are easily shocked.....should be shocked more often
Yeah yeah
I chose my username bc I had just finished reading a novel where Sappho was the main character [Sappho's Leap, if anyone's interested], and it popped into my head. Had I known I'd stick around here, I might have chosen something else ;p
I'll keep that in mind!
I joke around w some of my friends the same way, hah(yes, I tease most of my female friends like this unless I know they like me like that or are very uncomfortable with it.)
I knew who Sappho was too, then I wondered if the name was somekind of pro-lesbian thing, like you are a huge fan of Sapphos poetry because of the lesbianism. But based on what you write, it didn't make much sense.
About tattoos: More of a turn-off. It would be like comitting to have a mullet for rest of your life, because it happened to be a fad sometime, but probably will look ridicilous in the future. It was a different thing when only like sailors and bikers etc. had tattoos, but now that everyone and their grandma have tattoos, they have lost their point and it's just a fad.

Ok, I like men alot too, doesn't mean anything.Let's go ahead and clear this up now: I'm straight. I like men. A lot

a turn-off. however, my longtime crush is covered in really shitty tattoos (so bad that you wonder how drunk/high/whatever he could have been when he got them done, like his body looks like a series of bad decisions or nights spent blackout drunk.) anyhow, i still think he's hot.

I can't wait to get another tattoo. So long as there's not an excessive amount i find them very attractive.
ignore this post.

You're really annoying. Leave me alone.
I act like I'm in highschool because I answered a thread accordingly? And for the millionth time i'm in the air force.
I don't have a problem with others tattoos but I'd never want one myself because of the permanency of the thing- unless you want to endure a lot of pain and money to have it removed.
As far as it being a turn on or turn off, it depends on the style and location of it. Some are attractive, others are repulsive.

Agreed. A little bunny on the lower back pretty much says, "I have Daddy issues, come rail me" but I think that a personally authentic tattoo in the right place can be very attractive. I saw some girl smoking the other day relatively nearby me in the city who had one on her right posterior-shoulder (the little bone that protrudes), and found it attractive (but smoking is a different issue ). I will most likely get one (or more, depending) myself, not as some transient image stamp or anything, but as something more symbolic and integral.
lol!
Where did you get yours?

It might be an incorrect bias of mine, but ... Anyway, you seem to have a set of standards that will go away if the right guy comes along. That and the way you said it make me lean towards Ip, I find this to be more common with Ip girls. I didn't mean any of this in an offensive manner, I am just bad at phrasing things delicately.a turn-off. however, my longtime crush is covered in really shitty tattoos (so bad that you wonder how drunk/high/whatever he could have been when he got them done, like his body looks like a series of bad decisions or nights spent blackout drunk.) anyhow, i still think he's hot.
You should get one of an integral sign.I will most likely get one (or more, depending) myself, not as some transient image stamp or anything, but as something more symbolic and integral.

Interesting. I'd call it not being superficial. Why would you rule out someone you really get along with, has a great sense of humor, caring, intelligent, etc etc etc for a stupid tattoo? (or perhaps a series of them. lol)
The only thing I got out of the quote is that she doesn't find it appealing in general, but obviously it's the person that counts.
Oh - forgot to put my opinion about tattoos - depends. In my neighborhood, pretty much everyone has a full sleeve (or two). I kinda feel left out. I just don't think they age well. Some of them are gorgeous, though. I like the ones that are works of art. My office manager just got a really nice one on her arm. She gets one every time she runs a marathon.

Turn on. (But it does really depend on the tattoo. Most of these are a turn off.)
Personally I think even being heavily tattooed can be sexy; sleeves are really hot on the right girl. It just has to match your personality.
If I'm still single when I get to 40, I'm going to get a tattoo of a knife cutting into my chest.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

I most definitely wouldn't – even on a romantic level. To quote my duelist once again:
Who highlights the crux of the situation: that the intrinsic person precedes any external standard of attractiveness.
This in contrast to idiots like this:
Who deserve to have their futile minds ripped out and whatever is left of their soul sterilized.
In other words, you're hopelessly wrong; go expand your perspective.
That's interesting. I know that for myself, any sort of external standard, event, etc. could never be the reason for getting a tattoo; I would need it connected to something integral to me, something perennial; otherwise it would feel like 'just a mark.'Originally Posted by tiny_dancer
Hah. I have no clue what I would (or wouldn't) get at that age. I would hope to have gotten one before then, not to mention hopefully being with someone I care about; but who knows.Originally Posted by Gilly

ehh I guess I'm more comfortable with the lower classes.
In fairness, tattoos can be a reflection of someone's personality.
