What was wrong with The Old Atheism? It didn't work?
What an odd fellow.
Oh, did we have some "dispute" about certain prominent atheists insisting that religion is categorically bad? I think my only issue is that it is hard to say to what degree a religion has a beneficial impact through the encouraging of good deeds, whether directly, or indirectly. I do think people can be "good" and inspired without having a religion, but I'm not convinced that this would be the case with everybody, and starting from right now. I think the problem is more that many people must subscribe to and follow beliefs that have a negative impact on people who do not deserve it (in my opinion), rather than thinking for themselves.
