Some people seem to "fit" into a socionics type really easily and other seem to fit more easily into an enneagram type. I'm just curious as to which system most people in this forum thinks describes them best.

I find it much easier to fit the socionics type. As an example, Stratievskaya's description of the LIE could well have been written with me in mind, to an even shocking degree. And there is no other type I could really be, according to my understanding of socionics.
For the enneagram type, it took me quite some time, and it's not as easy, and not so obvious.

wasn't there a thread on precisely this recently?
my answer hasn't changed, but it's still a highly close call.
In a way, I guess both more or less equally. Despite arguments recently it's not very 5-ish, the so/sx stacking description over at the Ocean Moonshine site describes me perfectly, but then again my understanding of my Socionics type works also, so...neither one really sticks out more than the other I guess.

My enneagram type describes me much better than socionics.

I'd say socionics. It affects so many more aspects of my behavior than my enneagram type, plus 9s are generally made out to be more "soft" than I see myself.
Socionics (and to some extent the Enneagram too) is far more subtle and general than people usually give it credit for. LII descriptions, on the other hand, are a poor-to-ok fit for me (the information element descriptions are much better). Come to think of it, my understanding of the 9 is mostly based on descriptions, so that's probably why.
"lol" because you think he's right or because you think he's wrong?
It's funny that someone thinks they're an ILE 8w7, but even funnier that someone thinks - and there is someone on this forum who actually does think this - that they're a 2w3 ILE.
Don't reply, Jason. You don't know what you're getting yourself into.
I reckon you're a Five with a Six wing.
I'd say that my enneagram type generates a lot less controversy, even though I personally think they (enneagram and socionics) describe me equally well. Socionics has a broader scope in terms of useability.

Once I read Rick's IEE description, I thought: this is perfect. Until then, I had been somewhat uncertain. Now I'm pretty comfortable with my socionics type and how it describes me.
On enneagram, there are some descriptions of 3w4 and of sp/sx that I really connect to, but other descriptions of 3s that make me want to scream, or cry. Sometimes the descriptions of 3s seem wholly disconnected with reality and I feel so ashamed after reading them that somehow I'm not even as successful as my description is! Which is ridiculous. Not only do I feel I have to live up to a specific image, I feel that I don't even really live up to the description of my type sometimes.

I have no idea what my enneagram type is, but regardless of which it is, they must describe me so badly that I don't recognize myself.
