From VI - she could be ESI
From music - she is great
Her type - no idea. Her music doesn't strike as particulary IEI like.
Looking for an Archnemesis. Willing applicants contact via PM.

One thing I know about Feist is that her method of songwriting for her most popular album was to carry a tape recorder to jot down bits and pieces that she assembled into songs later. If you listen carefully to her music, which is a bit collage-like and tends to present brief musical motifs with a lot of space between them, that explanation of her approach to composition makes sense.

It's not a style of songwriting I would associate with IEI, which I'd expect to be more stream of consciousness or focused on the whole concept from the start. There's also no strong overt emotion in Feist's music--the emotion is there, and sometimes she expresses with her voice an edgy pain, but that edginess is also somewhat created because of the way her vocals are recorded and processed, to add edge and grit to them (won't get into details here, but I've read about that, too). I could see her way of conveying emotion--where she's drawing you in and implying an emotional world rather than projecting it right into your face openly--as Fi, maybe.

She's very into visual impact in a way I associate with Se. Her father is an artist, IIRC correctly, and his influence seems to figure heavily into her aesthetic. I think I remember her discussing him in an interview.

There's nothing confessional about her work. She's not a wallower; she's a bit tough from my POV. She's pretty well in control of, even focused on, the technical aspects of her music. I think that's a big part of her sound and her success.

So I could see ESI for her. Can't see Beta anything, and she seems too intense for Alpha.
LSI: “I still can’t figure out Pinterest.”

Me: “It’s just, like, idea boards.”

    LSI: “I don’t have ideas.”

She looks like PJ Harvey and Alexa Chung to a certain extent, although she is closer to Alexa Chung in terms of overall demeanour. She's most likely Beta/Gamma, and I'm not sure about the specific type yet. Good music, btw. Very refreshing as compared to the type of music I have been listening to recently.

I can totally see ESI for her actually. Yet I voted for EIE. I actually thought that she might be Ni-ENFj (Harmonizing subtype) [ENFj-ISTp]. I saw a music video of Feist recently, and I thought she reminded me a bit of the character of Deb from Dexter, although their personalities are probably really different.

When I got the album The Reminder from the library my Mom didn't like it too much.

agape: "You don't like her music?"

    my Mom: "Mmmh, so-so."

My Mom liked the album Let it Die a lot more.

It's funny though, because if I were a serious musician I think my approach to songwriting would be somewhat similar. I do sometimes come up with melodies at times, and I sometimes write them down, yet that's usually as far as it goes with me. I remember how in the past (and occasionally now) I'd sometimes come up with a melodic phrase or something vocally... and usually I'd want to write it down or record it as fast as possible because I'd often forget it, and I'd regret that if I thought it was pretty good. I'd like to eventually actually finish writing some songs. I can sort of play piano a bit and sort of sing, so I don't have the talent of a Feist, yet I sometimes have a knack for melody... Strangely enough I'm often better with melody than lyrics.

    - my Mom: “Look how nice music . . . Look how beautiful music.”

    - my Mom: “I like this funny music.”

    - my Mom: “It really bothers me; it’s too hyper.” “Too hyper music.” “She’s not very smooth (all the time).”
