Dunno, I don't think its related. ASMR is really uncomfortable and sometimes even nasty imo...
I don't like to listen hyper heightened random sounds, its overwhelming. I suspect that some Si PoLR could be more attracted to that... I say this because ppl with undervalued Si tend to choose overwhelming experiences or overindulge in Si matters (seek or use Si in unmoderated way) more than Si users whom I consider being more related to good use and moderation.

TBH I possibly have my own kind of ASMR material, which consists in music or voices that I like to listen. But this hyper-heightened sounds are really uncomfortable to me, specially if it came from random ppl (ppl whom I don't like their voice), or its made of random sounds (that doesnt mean anything).

These videos are kinda pleasant in a funny way but they don't give me tingles or anything like that. I can see where the sensations and stuff would come from tho, it makes sense to me, I just don't experience it.

When I've watched these videos I've always wondered how these people got into this and I can't stop thinking about the absurdity of what they're doing. Also the whispering and smiles convey intimacy to me and it's kinda like

I can see why this would be associated with Si from a theoretical standpoint. Whether there's a stark judicious/decisive division in the people watching the videos, idk.

I like these videos too, yet I am from a decisive quadra. ASMR first seemed very awkward and weird to be but once you kinda ignore the almost sexual vibes coming through the screen it actually does help to relax and I am one of the people who experience intense tingling through certain triggers.

But I also showed the video to other people and they didn't experience any sensations and didn't relax either.. doesn't work for everybody.

As a kid my head started to tingle as soon as people combed my hair or braided it too... like I really like the sensations felt by ASMR even though it is kinda creepy in a way, lol. My other IEI friend said it reminds her of porn.. especially the breathing, soft voice part.

The people I introduced to ASMR so far were sensors and intuitives.. from both decisive quadras.. and reactions were different.. didn't matter if they were a sensor or intuitive.

P.S. I get the Si-thing people talk about.. couldn't imagine SLEs or SEEs do this.. like they are way too restless for this. The focus on experiencing sensations is very string here. It's also there to make people comfortable. I can see the act itself as a Si-thing.

Also watching people make food for me sometimes does (depends on how they do it though).

Ikr? Totally underappreciated. Don't find it annoying either. I think I get tingles the most by just listening to cooking, the visuals make it even better. Am I really weird or does hearing the person explaining along the way also induce some ASMR? I kinda love it

Every ASMR video I've watched (like two or three) was creepy as hell.

It's like my worst nightmare that isn't actually fatal. I feel like I'm trapped in a room with a woman who is genuinely insane and not afraid to show it.

I'm trying to think of an analogy that I can use to explain my reaction to these videos. Imagine that you wake up in complete darkness and have a funny, itching feeling everywhere. You switch on the light, and find that you, your hair, and the bedclothes are completely covered with crawling, jumping, chittering insects and spiders.

What I find interesting here is that the difference between 1D valued and unvalued is so immense

I checked out a couple of the videos earlier in this thread though, and I agree they are kind of creepy (the one in the OP, for instance).
I think what gives people a feeling of ASMR (if they ever experience it) differs between individuals. (as slugabed alluded to above)

Another way I could describe ASMR is "warm fuzzies"

Found few videos that deals with comical ASMR.
You just need to do put in right search words.

    (for example ASMR Insane Asylum)

for me, ASMR just kind of happens in the presence of certain people/situations.
Bob Ross painting might be a good source of ASMR, actually, thinking about videos.
Also, hearing/seeing pets or other people eating can do it for me too. Like, when you are in a group of people eating and everyone is quiet, enjoying their food. I love those noises!

Ohh... this is the true experience! You're quite perceptive/attentive.

I like it when he talks about trees!!

(this just randomly came to my mind)

Pets munching, that's so cute Oh yes. People talking is a bit distracting. What else is there?

don't get me wrong, I don't mind people talking while eating, and even enjoy that... but that doesn't give me ASMR necessarily.
the chewing noises do tho but it would have to be in relative silence, to get the experience.

It's more of an Alpha thing to do that Delta means: enjoy peacefully without redundancy mhhhh Ahh that's what you meant, well you need to hear it separately somehow. How about listening to yourself while chewing? That's even better. These types of snack pretzels are my favorite to chew, they're so crispy.

For people who are into asmr does this woman's voice do anything for you? Every time I think about using one of her videos I have to decide if I'm in the mood to have to listen to it.

I had posted this back in 2014, to a new thread. I got self conscious about it, within minutes, so I deleted and moved to my blog. I was unable to delete the thread but I closed it. I am highly sensitive to some sounds which I had already related to my particular form of synesthesia. When I first posted I thought it was too weird for people on this forum but some of you guys are Si seeking junkies so I don't really care anymore. I just quoted the whole post although some of it is not specifically related to the topic.

Quote Originally Posted by Aylen View Post

A certain tone can instantly cause a response in my body or my mind ( invoke a different aspect of me). I am pretty sure I have noticed this happening over the years, due to a mild form of "Synesthesia", but never truly made the connection to how susceptible I can be to some type of "classical conditioning". I am not really saying this is a bad thing but it is helpful for me to notice and make more conscious choices. In some case it is really a good thing. hmm, yeah.

I have a strange link between, sound, touch and taste that I don't speak much about because I don't want people trying to experiment on me. It is not something I am going to share, in most situations, even if someone were to stumble upon the combination and activate my, um, condition.

I have also been told that I am "very compliant" while I am asleep. I can be told what to do and asked questions that I will answer, instantaneously, without being conscious at the time and no memory of it when I wake.

Having this input from others is making me want to find a way to be more aware of what exactly is affecting me, how it affects me, and why I respond the way I do.

If I am going to respond to certain things like I'm Pavlov's dog I want to know why! Not even sure why I am posting this because I am pretty sure the only way I am going to find the answers is to keep doing what I have been doing and exploring deeper within myself.

Looking back I can see this as a lifelong pattern and being aware of it may be the key to explaining why my life has taken the path it has. This should probably be in my blog. I will see how I feel about it later.

Edit: This is all probably connected to my ability to go into a trance-like state which seems to be a form of self-hypnosis.
    Auditory-tactile synesthesia[edit]

In auditory-tactile synesthesia, certain sounds can induce sensations in parts of the body. For example, someone with auditory-tactile synesthesia may experience that hearing a specific word feels like touch in one specific part of the body or may experience that certain sounds can create a sensation in the skin without being touched. It is one of the least common forms of synesthesia.[24] However, some speculate that the common phenomenon of autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), in which auditory stimuli or trigger words create a tingling sensation in the body without being touched, to be a form of auditory-tactile synesthesia, meaning that it could be more common than current statistics imply.
I have found the answers to my questions since posting the thread.

I don't have to seek it. It just happens but like I said, I have very specific triggers that can actually be almost physically paralyzing since it stops me in my tracks and I can't think clearly until it passes. Not always pleasant but sometimes it is. Like when my head tingles and I feel like my consciousness is expanding.

Most of the ASMR videos do nothing other than irritate me. :/

Those feel way too violating even though they do work if you can manage to relax.

I imagine Si valuers would love it though as they seem to highly value all pleasurable sensations. They probably are the type that seek it out on youtube.

i see no connection between ASMR and Si. also there are plenty of ASMR videos created by EIEs on youtube.

I think this one is tin foil hat SEI

I think she sees it purely artificial and therefore it creates some sort of discomfort in her.

I think it could be related to Si though. Not sure if +Si or -Si, perhaps depends on the variant of ASMR. I find it bothersome. Haven't found one ASMR video yet that doesn't make feel weird. I don't even understand what's the purpose.

Ask sol's opinion, he seems really into this stuff.

I only listened to a couple and got pretty irked; chewing sounds were especially irritating.

I really like this....not so much the video, but the sounds make me melt...

It's the same feeling I had in elementary school when this girl would take my colored pencils and draw with them. I could hear all the sounds of the crayons and her soft noises...always wondered if that was just a weird thing I had, but I guess this is common. It's like being given a massage through the ears.
    good bye

I don't know, my LIE friend has always been into ASMR, but I, an EII, never understood its phenomena. If I were to have anything to do with it, I'd be a creator of such content, I guess.
