I'm new to Socionics, but from an outsider's perspective, the idea of duality seems like the idea of soulmates wrapped in different packaging. It gives hope that there are people out there who fit you perfectly, and conveniently gives guidelines of who you should be looking for. It is both idealistic and depressing to me, because Socionics seems to claim that you can only experience true, authentic love with your dual.

Yes. I've known both LIIs and EIIs. Illusionary relationship isn't as bad for me, considering I'm Si-subtype, and I appreciate the Ne. I know both duality and illusionary can be very rewarding.

my principal is my dual, an SLE-Se 8w7? i think.
everyone hated him because he was new (the old one went to harvard or something like that), my friends would bitch about him changing the rules and how he was screwing up the school. but i was probably the only person who had no problem with him. i didn't really see anything wrong in what he was doing. it was like i understood where he was coming from. even though more than half the school talked shit about him, i pretended to hate him but really i had nothing against the guy.
it seems like that with almost all the SLEs i know. people hate them for some reason but i just can't bring myself to that because it's like i understand why the SLE does what he does and i kind of agree with it or just go along with it.
