Eh, people should be held accountable for non-factual accusations, instead of getting away with whatever pops into their head.
Good news for you is that you can still hold people accountable...bad news is you won't get to use tax payer dollars to do it. That means you're not going to make them hold themselves accountable. Next step is getting a law passed that prohibits employers from firing employees for exercising free speech rights elsewhere.

You'd need to hold people accountable by yourself, with your own money, without the government... but need the government to pass laws restricting others (employers) from holding you accountable ?
I don't think that's what you're saying, but that's what it looks like.
