    Default An Exercise

Go to several lists of typed celebrities and see what celebrities you identify with. Do you mainly identify with the celebrities of your type? Of another type? Of celebrities from many different types? It doesn't necessarily prove anything, but I think that it could be used as a heuristic to determine the consistency of socionics, the accuracy of the typings, and what type you probably are.

Just for fun (yes, I'm bored), I went to socionics.us and looked at all the celebrity pictures. Results below:

SLIs - most in the descriptions, no so much in the pictures.
Spencer Tracy, Jeff Daniels, Harrison Ford, Grace Kelly.

Others that I sorta-kinda saw something similar to myself in -
I liked Katharine Hepburn's pictures; her eyes especially seem reserved but not cold. Quite different than most of the other IEEs!
    Anthony Hopkins
Edward Norton, except his eyes are more intense

    Idle thoughts -
I wonder how Putin would look with a mustache?
Whew. SLE makes a shitload of sense for Gurdjieff.
Churchhill looks very inward-focused in the photos as socionics.us, even though he's typed SLE?
Steve Jobs looks wildly different in many of his photos ...
Wow, a lot of the LIEs are smirking! And Richard Feynman <3<3<3!
Kubrick is another one with markedly different impressions from differing photos ...
Several SEEs have that one-side-smiling-one-side-frowning smile ... like I (and several other SLIs have claimed to) have
Dude. LII's eyes tend to be INTENSE!
Interesting to have pictures of Stephen Hawking ... the man's face is not really under volition control any longer. I wonder what that does to the overall appearance of his features?
The ILEs and SEIs seem to have a lot of the same facial characteristics. I wonder what sets them apart, VI-wise?

    Robert DeNiro
    John Goodman
    Grace Kelly

--why on earth was Britney Spears typed ESTP on socionics.com??

The people I identify with from my own typings so far (my wikisocion list is much more up-to-date than socionics.us) are some of the more studious IEEs and the more outdoorsy and adventurous ILEs and ESEs. I've also met one EIE who I identified a lot with, and there are probably quite a few EIIs who I somewhat resemble, but I guess I kind of have an allergy to , even though I have it myself. I probably identify more with base , because some of these people are also openly enthusiastic and passionate about things the way I am (well, about many things). Some of the SLIs are really cool and do things that I like, but not the way I would do them.

I guess by "identify with" I mean that I could easily see myself doing the same kinds of things, or that I already am doing the same kinds of things.

The only one I truly identify with is Michael Jackson. And that's because I totally pwn when I do the moonwalk.

This is fun! I generally identify with intellectuals who have well-developed views on the Nature of Things (such as Descartes, Paul Graham, or Christopher Langan) or more cerebral popular musicians/composers like David Bowie or John Linnell (of They Might Be Giants).

I actually don't identify with a good deal of LIIs IRL, in terms of life goals and activities. It's more that they have similar thinking patterns and reactions to information as I do.

I've identified with (at one point or another, even for a short time):

    Socionics.us -typed:
    Richard Feynman (ENTj)
    Bill Clinton (ESFj)
    Stephen King (INFp)

    Socionics.com:-typed
    Richard Feynman (ENTp)
    Phil McGraw (ISTp)
    Bruce Willis (ESTj)
    Daniel Craig (ESTj)
    Ralph Fiennes (INFj)
    Jean Reno (ISFp)

Of those, the only two I've identified with for a somewhat longer time are Bill Clinton and Richard Feynman.

    Women just like me:
    Anne Hathaway
    Naomi Watts
    Jennifer Garner
    Drew Barrymore

    Women I could be bff:
    Ellen DeGeneres
    Nicole Kidman
    Nicole Ritchie

    Men I could marry:

So what pattern is there in the lists above? What quardra do you think I am? What else can be surmised by these lists?

I'm not sure about "identifying" with these people, but they are the ones who I see something of myself in, in some way or another.

    Socionics.us:

    George Soros - ILE
    Ed Norton - ILE
    Andy Kaufman - SEI
    Johnny Depp - SEI
    David Byrne - LII
    Salvador Dali - EIE
    Maybe David Bowie? - EIE
    Sigmund Freud - EIE
    Brad Pitt - LIE

    Socionics.com

    John Cleese - ILE
    Anthony Kiedis - IEI
    Tom Greene - IEI
Ed Norton (ILI, this is a ridiculous typing IMO)
    John Lennon - LIE
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

As are most of Ganin's typings. I mean look at his ISTp section, jesus! They are like all different types.
