No, that would be inappropriate.
I type felafel IEI wannabe based on the colour of her frilly-lacey knickers.
I'm not sure you can really type someone according to TV show- I think too many types like too many of the same shows. Soz.
Warm Regards,
Clowns & Entropy
those shows are quite alpha-y so something alpha. ile/sei mostly.
LSE
LSI: “I still can’t figure out Pinterest.”
Me: “It’s just, like, idea boards.”
LSI: “I don’t have ideas.”
Hi, and I go commando. Nice to meet you
I'm leaning more towards alpha/beta since most of my gamma/delta friends don't share the same taste in music or movies. The gammas seem to find these kinds of shows entertaining, but not something they'd go out and actively seek. The deltas seem to like staying away from anything mainstream altogether.
Comfined, why LSE?
Other than five minutes of boredom with Mad Men I've only seen Parks & Recreation, which is an interesting addition to your list because its cast and characters cover all four quadras. However, given its two central-most characters and the small town quaintness of the show I would place it as a whole in the Si interzone between alpha and delta. It is also the unreality of this lighthearted sentimentality and gee whiz-ness that caused me to stop watching the show early in the previous (or present???) season, though I do think it is a good program for general public consumption in that it promotes positive values and avoids demeaning people.
Also, tossing LSE out is something of a running gag around here so unless you're given a satisfactory justification you can safely disregard it for now.
Mix of beta and Alpha stuff so I think you're a Alpha or beta. I think Irrational.
The fact you go commando makes me think valuing and not valuing, chaffing is not a option!!!
Rofl good god k0rpsy, your conversational tone is so dry and matter-of-fact... I like Parks & Rec for the same reasons as you actually, in addition to its sheer entertainment value. I find it interesting that you pointed out the wide range of characters on the show, because I like Skins for the same reason -- it's about the lives of a group of neglected Brit teens, and it's horribly unapologetic about it.. but I like it for its authenticity, and for its character development. I tend to like movies along the (nitty gritty) vein in general, Hunger, Requiem for a Dream, City of God, to name a few.
Might I ask what your favorite shows are? Now I'm curious...
Hahaha, thanks for the warm welcome! I think I'd fall squarely into the Humanitarians club, not sure on the temperament though. I fluctuate too much to be sure, buuut I did take two tests on this mobile app (did you know there's a mobile app for Socionics? because I didn't...) and got INFP. Then I found this page http://www.socionics.com/articles/mytake.html, now and I can't tell whether I'd be EJ or IP!
Hoarders and Intervention are good for freakshow schadenfreude, though I tend to skip through all the emotional wailing. I like investigative and analytical news shows like Frontline as well as much of the BBC's historical and anthropological programming. Every so often I'll catch a little boxing, hockey, MMA, rodeo, or X Games-type antics. Game of Thrones resumes in another month or two I think, so I'm hoping that'll be decent. My interest in the Walking Dead has been on life support since season two and I can't stomach the Office, Big Bang Theory, or the Mindy Kaling whatever any longer. If I had my druthers, Cosmos and Connections would still be ongoing productions.
You should make a list of your favorite characters instead.
Also, can you include what it is about the character that you like.
For me, my dream girl is leela from futurama, I wish I was the Mentalist, etc...
Why is the Mindy show so popular? I don't get it, I could never make it past the first few episodes. I'll have to watch Hoarders, since I've heard good things about it... so shows that are either educational in some way, or extreme?
Sorry for the hiatus btw, too many house parties this week!
Okay, favorite characters..
Mad Men | Joan
She's tough, confident, and she plays the system just as well as any of her male colleagues do. She takes her weaknesses (doesn't see them that way) and turns them into strengths. While she willingly gives up control to her husband in the public sphere (even though Greg is more than lacking as a husband/man), at home she turns into a very loving, supportive partner.
Gossip Girl | Blaire
Along the same vein as Joan, just more emotional and fiery. Blaire is above all loyal to her friends, until they piss her off or betray her somehow, in which case they fully deserve whatever's coming to them. Blaire tries so hard to be perfect, yet falls short of her own goals, and eventually has to learn how to deal with the hardships and setbacks of life. She never once questioned who she was though, and who she was meant to be.
Skins | Effy and Cassie
Effy, because she's young, yet so mature, and so very dark. She stares the world in its eyes and gives it a big 'fuck you' .. even with all her troubles at home, having to deal with her parent's separation, and taking care of her older brother. Cassie, because she's just so damn amazing. And a wreck through half the show, but only because she's so conscious of it all -- the B.S., the backstabbing, the lies that go on around her. She's lost because she's looking for a rock, but can't seem to find one anywhere. and Sid is a terrible replacement.
Parks and Rec | Tom and April
..because he says the most ridiculous things, and comes up with the most ridiculous business ideas. and April, though I think I like the actress moreso than the character. Leslie's a fave too, but I just love Amy Poehler... and Tina Fey, they go hand in hand.
Misfits | Nathan
Misfits is a British show exclusively on Hulu. Hilarious show about a group of teens forced to do community service, who suddenly gain super powers from a freak storm. Similar in spirit to Heroes, but way better with the humor. Nathan's obnoxious, hilarious, outrageous, yet still manages to stay loyal to his group of friends.
