Betas and the Loud/Quiet thing

I’ve seen a lot of threads about how betas are loud/boisterous and also how betas are the quietest, ‘most introverted’ quadra. I think um, betas are the most fluid in their interactions out of all the other quadras, and whether or not we are loud or quiet just totally depends on what other quadra members are present. Other quadras seem more fixed in their interactions, but betas it just totally depends on what non-betas we’re associating with.

Like in a heavy delta atmosphere where ideals and ‘real work’ are matched, such as a school setting, I think this stifles betas the most, so we will be super quiet.

If you put nothing but betas in a living room though, I think we will be the loudest, most partying type. That’s when the typical idea of an sle in a backwards baseball cap skullfucking an iei might come true. I think though out of social embarrassment/norms, if a delta walked in or something… we’d stop more of our natural self. But I know if I’m by myself, or other betas- I’m a lot more wilder than I usually appear. That’s when probably yes, I chug beer and act gonzo porn ish.

Betas and alphas… I’m quieter around alphas usually. Still jokey but mellow.

Gammas I think, hybridize betas. That is, we’re loud but quiet all at once in a way. They have us participating strongly, but still on guard (shared and but their and nullifies us). My interactions with gammas kind of make me feel split in two in a way.

Beta: FeTiSeNi/Delta: FiTeSiNe. Beta: FeTiSeNi/Gamma: FiTeSeNi. Beta: FeTiSeNi/ Alpha: FeTiSiNe

Betas = feel most energy with other betas of course. Miss it when it’s gone.
Alphas = 2nd best.
Gammas = 3rd best.
Deltas = Worst. Drains energy. Have to make effort to appear I dunno. Normal it seems.

Note this is based on society/group interaction, not one on one interaction per se. Because a healthy Delta can still very much charge me if it’s just us two. Like, I appreciate the one-on-one interaction with Delta IEEs and EIIs. But if you like, get a group of Deltas and just me or something, I end up feeling almost dead and like my brain vibrations would function at a very low level. Again, this is based more on quadra relationships rather than intertype relationships, if that makes sense.

Now it’s more complex than this but the general saying is true to me. Like say I was in a situation with 6 betas, 3, gammas, 2 alphas and 1 delta. I’d still feel more energized than not. If I’m like with all betas, I act kinda more… war-like. Like I start talking about how I want to change the world and gay hippie shit like that, and if we also get along for other non-socionics reason, we’ll start a club or group or some movement or what not. Of course this also has to do with the right balance too. If you have an equal amount of each type of beta, and a large group of betas I think it will be almost epic in the feeling of movement and accomplishment. Like Idk man, just a theory since in real life there was always a Delta or two thrown in the mix that really, really squandered the spirits. Not that it’s a bad thing. The world needs that balance I suppose.

Perhaps it's unfair to say that a large pack of Deltas would actually *drain* my energy. Just um, neutralize it.

I guess from my point of view, Betas in this setting are stifled up to a point, then they just do what their desire dictates they do -- "Screw this, I'm gonna do ____, I don't care"

I'm not sure if a Delta walking into a room full of Betas is going to make much of a difference to the atmosphere, honestly. Especially if the Delta is severely outnumbered in a random, heavily Beta environment. If anything, the Delta will probably make a feeble effort to try to blend in, can't, resist the environment and then leave without anyone noticing.

I understand. If the Delta is vocal enough in an environment to be heard, especially if vehement in conviction, then it can temper that energy if the Delta deems it's out of hand. Other Deltas that are inclined to wait in the wings I would think are more likely to leave the atmosphere and let the atmosphere be what it is without the Delta's "interference" if the Delta deems their presence is detrimental to the atmosphere.

I think the lack of / in an atmosphere dictates a moderate or mellow tone that is laid back, and doesn't overly exert itself to make things happen. Which makes sense if you feel charged up to do something, but feel alone in your venture because of the lack of it.

I'd say the best combos are plus with a side of .

It's only been recently that I've been able to be comfortable in a group and actually join in group activity. Most of my life, I tended to avoid group identification and interaction, possibly because I see most interaction in those situations as superficial and mindless. Not to mention, I'm not usually willing to sacrifice personal autonomy in favor of group solidarity (hello, 4w5 SO-variant last). I just never readily ascribed to "group ideals".

ie: I work in Phila. Phillies just won the World Series and the Parade is today in an hour or so. Ugh. At this moment, I'm trying to figure out a strategy to get myself home with the least amount of aggravation. How can I avoid the entire crowd/mob atmosphere?? Bleh. Screaming, alcohol-fueled people jamming the streets to projectively identify with a sports team. Nightmare.

Hmm. Okay. Yeah my thinking got a bit wonky there. I just view Deltas as more um fixed in the vibe that they give off. Like Betas as most dynamic, Deltas as most fixed. So for a conventional/traditional society, you need the Deltas the most.

I've got this strange thing with "groups" where I need someone who is "okay" with groups, and who i get along well with, to really introduce people into a group. and then i'm fine .. and the whole group thing isn't so hard for me.

but as far as "other" groups, or starting a group from scratch. both of those are hard for me.

like i seem to give off that "alone" vibe, which makes me kind of seperate/isolated quite often. and it's like there's this kind of "ricochet" on connecting with people, like an initial hurdle .. and then i'm fine.

but like, i used to kind of make quite a lot of people uncomfortable initially .. hangon i still do .. and it's like it can help if other people do things to "ease" the discomfort that tends to be around at first..

I think we should study the quardra elation thing that's written on socionics.com more closely, Activity-Mirror-dual can really cause a moment of good elation. I experience this from time to time on stickam where i felt just as how socionics.com describes it. Two extrovert will calm down a little where the introvert will be slighty more open, all party will feel a feeling of elation.

When I'm with my INFp friends, we can be really obnoxious while everyone looks at us like we're idiots. I noticed that we also get quiet around people we don't really like and we can be really closed off. I am not usually accepting of people when I first meet them but I've been more friendly lately.
