Default ISTj Appreciation thread - post what you enjoy/admire/like/respect about them

That's right. This is a brag thread. Talk about all the things you enjoy/admire/like/respect about ISTjs here. Anecdotes are welcome, as well as what you admire/enjoy/like/respect about the type in general. Ready? Set. GO!

They're really perserverant in whatever they do, which is better than whatever I do.

Also, when they argue, they exude the sense that they know that they are right, which makes them fight to the dead for their principles.

But, both ISTj's are kind of self-centered, and are very reserved people. I couldn't consider them sociable people, but that helps with academic pursuits for sure.

You misunderstand me. Both ISTj's I know are self-centered to a fault.

Maybe it's just because I can see how actions affect other people, but both seem to never consider how the other side feels about numerous different subjects.

I stand by that comment, sorry.

Thanks for the big brother behavior. =)

Anyway, in the ISTj's eyes, this self-centerness is a good thing. I've called them out on it, and they are quite proud that they consider their lot only.

So if you think about it, I'm bragging about the ISTj.

uhhh it was supposed to be more of a friend to friend thing than an older sibling thing. Especially since despite the fact that I'm older than you I don't FEEL older than you AT ALL.

    lol no police.

The ISTj's (I know) don't want to become anything like that for some odd reason, though they have no clue what they want to do.

I think ISFjs are very driven and I believe I read somewhere that they are more likely than any other type to pursue a childhood dream all throughout life.

Would I hire an ISTj for an accountant?

    Yes, I would.

I know an ISTj (fairly sure, anyway) and he isn't an accountant. And I wouldn't hire him as one, either.

However, if I needed a tree cut down with a handsaw, he'd be the one.

Hmmmm, why would you even mention not hiring him as an accountant if he isn't one.

It was a specific example in response to UDP's generalization.

Not that I think he necessarily habitually generalizes, but, you know, for the principle of the thing...

That's just Minde watching my back I suppose.

She will be pretty busy if she is going to bust all the "generalizations" in these bragging threads, but, as she wishes.

I did not mean a generalization, but I can see how it seems that way. I know an ISTj accounting major, and she is really anal about those little details, so it is a good match for her. I would trust them with things like that generallly - those important small details.

LSI is the only cognitively "tougher" type than LII.

LSI's are usually friendly, especially when E1 or E3.

LSI's have a strong willpower that I'd like to have.

LSI's have a great sense of humour.

LSI's lie very seldom, like me.

You ain't seen LASER attention until you've seen an ISTj.

Also... they make great lovers. One of mine made me think about adding a soundproof coating to my bedroom.

They have stronger than LII's. That's why LSI's, though they may be friendly, seem so narrow-minded. Especially when they're E1. They are archetypal bureaucrats. Stalin was LSI.

i value the serious expression of face and sullen eyes and arched eye brows of the serious perosonality type. even sort of fetishizing it.

I don't know about other ISTj's but this one I know... believe me... she's one of the very best I had. The feedback I got from her was unbelievable. I never knew I was THAT good... Some told me I'm good... she expressed it wildly and that my friend, is an amazing lover in my book.

I am kinda new to this forum, as an INTJ dude. Interacting with another ISTJ female. There are alot of similarities, as one is more serious with realisitic thoughts, as the other is kinda out of space [me]. Most my comments are abstract, which ISTJs has, but choosed not to referred to them, all that much. Nice internal counterparts, like a reflection in the mirror. One topic can easily expand, for a very long time. If your not a patient person, then end of the road, for you. They do tend, like to analyze with emphasizes, but do put things into consideration. For me, xNTx or xNFx is kinda out of the world, so in some cases; one might not follow through that quickly or he/she might follow through much quickly. Overall, ISTJs are still cool, kinda helps with my internal side, which needs deep thought, on how to face the problems and prevent them. Although, my natural compatible matches are INTJs, INFJs, ENTPs [cool people], ENFP, ENTJ, ISTJ, etc.

My dads an ISTJ accountant. Yes i would hire him. He keeps files on everything.

I just like how the are doing people. Hard workers. Never complains. My dad is pretty quiet at home but when his mate rings he explodes in laughter. They are tough as nails mens men which is pretty awesome.

That seriously reminds me of the relationship I have with an ISTj. He's in an advanced accounting class, and he's a nice guy to talk to on the phone, I always make him laugh hysterically.

Ah man....... I don't want to rant about beta or "beta Fe", but its real tempting.

ISTjs are quite receptive to any efforts you make to "make pleasant conversation" with them.

My ISTj friend fits this description perfectly (with the exception of being your dad).
She's working very hard at her job.

She never complained in all the time we were together. NEVER! which seamed very strange to me as I expected this from a judgemental type.

As for laughter.... well... she manages to brighten up every conversation I have with her.
I was recently in a vacation with an ENFp and things were going well, lots of fun, still, something was missing but when my ISTj friend called I had a satori moment. It was like the previous week was spent seeing a nice black and white movie and suddenly you see color.

I thought the idea behind that picture with the "cops" was...

they're from that awful show I never watch on Comedy Central... though I've never watched it, I've gathered that they are absolutely *pitiful* cops.

so I think the point was... without ISTjs, what would the world come to?

I mean ISTjs (stereotypically) would not make such pitiful cops (going by the generalized notion of what an "ISTj" is).

So if the stereotypical ISTj entered that group of pathetic police officers s/he would whip them back in line. Their doughnut-eating, slacking off, whiney pathetic cop behavior days would be over.

I somehow don't see this happening. I would however see something like some slacker cops tempting a ISTj cop to "join them" and receiving a brutal answer like "go fuck yourselves!" after which he or she would get into his car and drive off to do one more round through the neighborhood.

    "Love," said the Master.

    I chose Love

What if one day the rogue ISTj cop suddenly showed up on the job. Looking around him he noticed his co-workers were utter slobs who did a horrible job of law enforcement. What would our stereotypical ISTj do?

Gah, that doesn't work. It all depends of course on what is important to him/her and what he/she wants to do, etc.

Anyway, to your post I say, fair enough. I mean really, I'm sort of extrapolating things, because I don't think I know any ISTj-like sorts in real life. At least I don't think.

If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.
