It's just a poor way to describe how sense perception works in LSI and ESI and makes a general statement that can apply to anyone who wants to take an action.

it does sound unspecific as descriptions go, but isfj very much do that when necessary ime - don't see how it is 'idealization'...can't say the same for istj tho.

anyway, agree w/slacker that the way it's put is applicable to just about anyone under certain circumstances.

Haven't known any ISFj who do that, to be honest. Perhaps there are cultural factors at play. It sounds way too proactive than how most ISFjs tend to be - unless we're talking about an extreme emergency situation. Perhaps again, since I obviously observe ISFjs only when they're around me, my own presence might mean that emergency/negative situations are slightly less likely to happen.

I don't think so, I personally believe his self typing to be correct - ENTj-Te, with strong emphasis on Te. Besides, when I speak about "idealization" I'm not talking about "positive" idealization - indeed the description outlined in the OP is value-neutral. What I'm speaking about is describing a type according to the idea someone has in mind, rather than how such type actually...acts.

Let's be honest, I personally wouldn't necessarily trust myself as "objective" if I were to write an entire wiki about types. Obviously my descriptions will be partially clouded by my personal experience, personal bias and well, just general lack of understanding of reality.
