Default Palin: A Genuine Danger to America, the World

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/...ion/index.html

She's basically saying she's above the law. She's saying that the board will find she committed no impropriety, and that it can find this sooner rather than later. Which is effectively saying, the law is what she says it is, and nothing else.

If she were to assume the presidency, it is plausible that she would attempt to transform the U.S. into a dictatorship. She's totally unhinged, or she wouldn't be doing this.

She could jail the Left. I mean seriously, she's dangerous.

It just occured to me: all of this, it's a page from ******'s playbook. ****** made the Jews -- the suspicion of them -- into an enemy. Palin's doing the same thing with the media, conflating everything she dislikes into a conspiracy to "get her", and blaming all the nation's problems on her opposition. Nor does she acknowledge the opposition; instead, she says that it's all the fault of bigger things that the opposition is only representative of. Yet these things don't exist. If you don't have an enemy to focus all your hate on, someone to blame... make one up.

This is scary. She's charismatic, and whenever you have someone whose heart is not in the right place -- who doesn't have the character of Reagan, or Obama to come out, look their opposition in the eye, and say "here's where you went wrong; are you going to change, now?" -- then you've got a dangerous phenomenon at work. The new ****** has arisen, and she is a woman from Alaska.

Let's hope she finds her place in jail shortly.

I don't think I've ever heard a woman speak as much malice as Palin did tonight.

But Palin is exactly what Cheney was: terrible, dangerous. But if the alternative is truly dangerous, certainly you'll look the other way no matter how profoundly the guy already in there blunders. It worked for Bush.

She has said nothing worth an ounce of importance. Her family is more the topic of discussion than the economy. She needs to die.

I think this is gonna backfire, because she is a nasty person with a nasty attitude, and I don't think the American people will like her at all.

The Republicans, of course, but she's asking people in general to choose between herself and the people's choice, Obama. Obama has character; she doesn't.

I suspect a part of the conservative base is going to bolt to Obama on type-specific lines. The question is, which type?

A Palin presidency would be very Stalin-esque. A poster on Democratic Underground made an interesting observation that her behavior strongly exhibits an inclination towards psychopathy.

I see her as a test, and I suspect that deep inside that what she feels she is, too. She's a mix of Napoleon and ******: she has a distinct code of morals that she feels authorized to enforce over everyone else, and her opposition to this vision is a contrived "establishment" that doesn't genuinely exist. How could it, when it has no phemenological basis? Like ****** she's misinterpreted the situation and, like ******, refuses to accept the world is not what she thinks it is. She has very little, if any, capacity for self-critique.

    who be misuninformeded?

(btw I like McCain in some ways, I was pretty happy that it wound up him and Obama since they were the only ones from either side of the aisle that I thought had merit)

But that is still a funny picture!

ETA: but I don't know about his VP pick. Well, maybe either VP pick actually.

Why does it occur to no one that he's old as dirt and is probobly going to die a year into his presidency? I can't watch the guy, I'm afraid he's going to drop dead at any moment.

Why do you assume he'll die a year into his presidency? He could live to be 90. You just don't know.

Just to make it clear, I don't lean one way or the other at this point. I guess he could live into his 90's as his mother is like what? 150? Anything is possible.

The bolded bit is ammusing, considering Obama voted to allow women to have a post-birth baby killed after a botched abortion.

    What sickening hypocrisy.

Because they were taken off the list, lol!

An aborted baby that survived would TOTALLY be psychologically and physically healthy and not have a fucking horrible life ahead of it, even ignoring all of the possible reasons it could have been aborted for.

    What revealing ignorance.

They were taken off the list because their population isn't currently endangered. It's listed as "threatened" because of potential future danger due to melting ice sheets, and that's a whole different subject.

An aborted baby that survived would TOTALLY be psychologically and physically healthy and not have a fucking horrible life ahead of it, even ignoring all of the possible reasons it could have been aborted for.
George, killing a baby that has been born is evil, as is killing a baby that could be born, and rationalizing the killing of such infants by talking about the probability that they'll lead a difficult life is disgusting. That's all there is to it. If you don't see this, there is something wrong with you.

Yes yes of course, the best thing to do is to make a 13 year-old girl, who made one mistake, choose between being alienated from her family or having a rusty coat hanger shoved up her cunt. Of course the only 13 year-old girls who will have to make such decisions will be the ones too poor to afford the private illegal abortion doctors which will always be there because the market guarantees their existence. Funny how the little girls least equipped to afford a child are the ones without a choice. If human life is so fucking precious to you then you'd realize that there's plenty of children around the world that attention should be focused on, children that are dying of hunger right now while you bitch about politics.

The fact that anti-abortion movements in the United States even have sway is related to your country's pathetic excuse for a public education system, notice how other developed Western nations don't share your sentiments? Notice how undeveloped, uneducated, third world regimes do? Coincidence? The simple fact that a large amount of Americans find candidates that seem "ordinary" and "like them" as actual contenders to take the most important position in the country, the kind of position where an average IQ should immediately disqualify you, is hilarious. In light of this, amongst other things, abortion would only be high on the priority list of an idiot appealing to idiots that to be an idiot is to be a genius because Oxford and Webster were wrong.

    Someone said to me:
I personally will never understand why people get alarmed, at all, when presidential or political figures are scrutinized.

It's not unpatriotic, it's perhaps one of the most patriotic things. That's what the people died for, who actually sought to make America.

Furthermore, it's pretty much called for, if you want to be "the leader of the free world", a leader in one of the most powerful countries on the planet.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.
