I'm reading As a Man Thinketh. There's a HUGE focus on underlying cause and effect relationships.
Three things:
1.) OMG THIS IS THE MOST BRILLIANT THING I'VE EVER READ
2.) It's also one of the most Gamma things I've ever read. (LIE > SEE > ESI > ILI)

As a Man Thinketh is a pretty short book and it's worth checking out. I'd recommend it to anyone.
And just now I found the most un-Gamma thing I've ever read.
It's from the Tao Te Ching.Not exalting the gifted prevents

I imagine it's more of an individual thing. I don't like self-help books though. I believe we've discussed this before.
We've had this discussion before and we ended it agreeing that we had completely different ideas as to what was meant by a self-help book.

I personally have never read one. I cannot see what kind of benefit would I reap. My time is better spent doing much more productive or enjoyable things. Joy saying that she doesn't like self-help books, after her sponsoring of Kyosaki and the like, is simply laughable.

Anything that helps you "understand the universe" so that functioning in the world is easier, is a self-help/motivational book.

It all comes down to how you define "self-help". Yes, many of my favorite books can be found in the section of Barnes and Noble labeled "self-help". If anyone's really interested in hearing my thoughts on this matter, they can be found in the topic about Wayne Dyer. It's really not worth getting into again though.
So Logos, to answer your question: No, I do not believe that all Gammas (or only Gammas) are going to be drawn to the section of Barnes and Noble labeled "self-help".
No, I do not believe that continuously seeking to learn and grow as an individual (which is really what this is about) is exclusive to Gamma, either. (And again, certainly not all Gammas are interested in personal growth.)
However, the manner in which people of different temperaments and quadra values grow as individuals does differ. Of the books that can be found in the section of Barnes and Noble labeled "self-help" there are different choices that would be suitable to each of the different sets of quadra values and temperaments. Of course, this does not mean that every individual of a certain type/quadra would be interested in the book, or that only individuals of that type/quadra would be interested in it. Similarly, it would be ridiculous to say that all IEI's would like a particular television show or that all LSE's would be well suited to a particular career.
If you're interested in understanding how As a Man Thinketh is extremely Gamma, read it in the library that I posted a link to or send me a PM for the link to listen to the audio book online. It's a short book.
And to be clear, I don't think that his work is the end all answer, even for LIE's. If you combine his work with Eckhart Tolle's you're much closer, but of course it's simply not possible to find an end all answer.
Self-help stuff is pretty much universally Fe, IMO.

I don't agree with everything he says and I wouldn't present the concepts from the same perspective he does (I think he's leaving some important stuff out), but I do find value in his books.
