    Default L.U.L.

I have this 'condition' called "I forget people I haven't interacted with and wonder who they are after meeting them after some longer period of absence of interaction."

Simply speaking, it looks and is, as if I have met them for the first time in my life.

    No joke.

To top it, I'm struggling with another 'condition' pertaining weeks and days, that is, I can drive, say, a certain date (be it a meeting or something important) to completion even if it is so far away as 2-3 years from now (I won't forget about it), but when it comes to day by day activities, and providing, they're not really filled with anything of substance, I get my days mixed up.

For example, I thought it is Wednesday when it was Friday, and yesterday, that is, Saturday, I thought it is Sunday.

    Any advice?

    I have the same problems

I use the calander of my phone to make sure i don't forget the important stuff. It doesn't matter which day it actually is as long as I can depend on the notifications to tell me i'm supposed to be in a meeting or stuf. Ofc I tend to forget to put stuff in there so its not failproof.

About remembering people, there is an app called "evernote hello" which will let you capture pictures of people/their business cards and it'll keep details about how you met them etc (place time). But than, that's useless for informal contacts, and also only works ad post (you can check back later if you had, in fact, met that person, but it doesn't help you in the situation...).

getting a significant other who is good with peopledetails might work. In the end I think this is not so much a problem (something that could be solved) as much as a situation (something to accept).

    Edit:
A lot of the people I know who can do the recognising people well tend to add EVERYONE to their linkedin/facebook. Not too sure if this is a cause-effect relationship but I could imagine that it helps by keeping people closer to their informational processing (you recognise something easier if you have thought about it prior).

I don't. I usually remember any event that stretches into the future, no matter how wide margin. Two years from now, three, five, etc. No problem with that - I'll do it and I'm fine after. The past is what I have a problem with. Cool reading skills...

Agree, it is useless. For you might have met them only once.

    Going to have to marry.

Don't use any social sites, except this one.

you can look backwards in your calander too you know?

About the people, yeah, its a sucky condition. However, what is the problematic part? Do you feel bad for not recognising them or are there other ramnifications like missing opportunities and such?

Oh really? That's cool, but I prefer looking forward.

    Technology these days...

I don't really feel anything there - the situation leaves me confused at times, though. For example, you're going somewhere, in some direction you wanted, and someone comes over and ask "whether or no you remember her?" (even though you went to school for eight years with her), to which you nod your head, but in the back of your head you have this thought "who are you, and how do you know me?"

So yeah, I figured I find such questions confusing, all by myself. More power to me!

Yeah i have that exact thing a lot. (I always attributed that to my incorrect idea of "being introverted" though, I'm not particularly paying attention to people)

might be that you're a bit more memorable than most people (so they thought you were great while you didn't think about them)

I usually don't remember people I socialise with in groups, i'll socialize with the group or with one or two people within and forget about the people who didn't contribute a lot. could be that's the problem with you too.

there are ways to consciously memorize faces and facts about people. But than, doing that with everyone seems...tedious.

If it's only confusion though, well, knowing you're not great with faces and accepting that would fix the problem imho. Not too sure this is something to be concerned about.

I do, but not those I've lost contact with nor don't know. Simple.

Again, I do, but if you check my first post, I don't after interaction ceases for a longer period of time. I take it, it's just me, although it is quite impressive - remembering something from that far away in the past. I may be pressed to say, I don't pay attention to past.

Faces change, places change, things change. I don't really have a problem with accepting it, never did, so I think case closed. Going to say "I don't remember you, I've changed a lot", next time...
